I was craving an old Diner type atmosphere like I grew up with. I was also craving a wonderful club sandwich from this Diner. The service was good. The club sandwich was very good. I wanted some good french fries. Their french fries are absolutely horrible. They really need to improve upon the french fries. I hope other people speak up about the french fries so that they might possibly change to better ones.

This Denny’s visit was embarrassingly bad and absolutely requires corporate intervention.

The first issue happened immediately. The coffee mug brought to the table had a lipstick stain on it. That should never happen in any restaurant and shows a clear lack of cleanliness and quality control.

The table ordered the Country Fried Steak meal, and the steak was literally mush on the inside. Not tender, mush. A country fried steak should never have the texture of paste. It was completely inedible.

The Lumberjack meal was just as bad. The ham was extremely salty, the hash browns were burnt, and the pancakes were burnt on the outside but raw in the middle. It is unbelievable that a kitchen would serve plates in this condition.

The only good part of the visit was the waitress Jonell. She was kind, attentive, and professional. When the issues were mentioned to her, she handled the situation immediately and fixed what she could. She is not the problem. She is the reason the situation did not end up even worse.

Based on what multiple people at the restaurant said, the cook is supposedly the boyfriend of the manager, and if that is true it would explain why nothing improves and why the quality is allowed to stay this bad. Whether that rumor is true or not, it is clear that the kitchen has no accountability and it shows in every plate that leaves it.

This location is failing at cleanliness, food quality, and kitchen oversight. Until major changes are made, avoid this Denny’s because it is absolutely not worth the time or money.

We often come to Village Inn as there is always something for everyone. Unfortunately today the kitchen was overwhelmed. The patty melt was almost inedible. The bread was hard and grilled with rancid oil, the onion rings were also very over done. My mom’s burger was forgotten and when it did come, it was very thin, small and over cooked. My salad was adequate, but I did find many wilted and old pieces of lettuce. We will not be returning for lunch service.

First of all we had to wait for 15 minutes to be seated and the place looked like a disaster area. Almost every table was dirty. And they weren’t even busy. We asked for a booth and the hostess sat us wherever she wanted. After we got seated it took another 10 minutes to finally get menus and a beverage. When the waitress finally came she started saying she hasn’t been able to catch up all morning and was looking for some type understanding from us, we had clearly told her we were on a time crunch and it went way over her head. We ordered our lunch, my wife ordered a salad with a slice of toast, and I ordered the Fish and Chips. We did get our order promptly, and you could tell the oil in their deep fryer was past it’s prime. The fish was a dark brown sure indicator the oil was burnt. The fries had a weird taste. The salad my wife ordered looked old and the greens weren’t fresh and were brown on the edges. Our waitress never checked on us once and never brought our ticket. When we went to pay the older man behind the register asked for our ticket and we told him we hadn’t seen our waitress since we got our meal. We paid and left. VI corporate should have this place under the microscope,

Our waitress was a sweetheart, and the food was on point as always, but the cleanliness of the restroom was disappointing. If I would have gone in first and seen what I did, we would not have stayed for food. If the restroom was that bad I would hate to see the kitchen. This was super disappointing because I really like VI.

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with a recent dining experience at your establishment. My visit was marred by severe failures in both hygiene and food quality that necessitate immediate attention.
On 11/23/25 at approximately 9:00am, my experience included two separate and unacceptable issues:

1. Hygiene Failure (Coffee Mug): Upon being served, I discovered visible lipstick residue on my coffee mug. This indicates a failure in your dishwashing and sanitation protocols, which is a serious hygiene breach. I immediately requested a replacement.

2. Food Safety/Quality Failure (Main Course): Shortly after receiving my meal, the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs, I had to send the dish back because the chicken fried steak was significantly undercooked—it was mushy and inedible. Serving raw or improperly cooked meat is a critical food safety hazard.

These issues combined created a very disappointing and concerning experience. I feel compelled to mention that this level of failure is a health hazard, and I may report this incident to the local Health Department due to the severity of the undercooked food.

We went Sat morning- it was full house. We were seated in 10 mins. The server came by in 15 mins to ask for drinks and we ordered right Away. French toast was not very good- ok. The spinach bacon omelette was very good. Coffee was ok. Strawberry crepes was good too.
