I hadn’t been to a Village Inn since the early 90s. The look has changed quite a bit, but the quality of the food is as good as ever. I enjoyed one of the best Reubens ever. It was crispy unlike many I usually have. The flavor was fantastic and had the perfect combination of meat, sauce and sauerkraut. The fries were also very good. My wife had the Country Music Star omelette with hash browns and pancakes. They were excellent. The only thing that could top off this great meal was a slice of banana cream pie, and it didn’t disappoint. It was top-notch. Overall, it was a great meal for a reasonable price.

My cousin and I arrived at Village Inn on Sunday night between 845 pm and 9 pm. We were told about a pot pie that wasn’t on the menu and given water. We were also told that there is an 18% gratuity added automatically to our bill. Not a problem. When the waitress took our order we were told they had no grits because they closed at 10 pm. When asked about the pot pie, we were told they had already put them in the freezer because they close at 10 pm. A couple tried to come in at around 930 and they had already locked the doors. If you’re open until 10 pm then the food should be available until 10 pm. They may as well have closed up at 9 because they couldn’t fix us what we wanted off of the menu. I won’t be back there. We were made to feel like we were an inconvenience.
The waitress kept reiterating that they close at 10 pm and it wasn’t even 9 pm yet. Bad business…

I love my home location village inn so i suggested it to family when i seen this location near by. This place completely ruined my thoughts on the franchise. Where do i start, I wasn’t mad at the 18% automatic gratuity added, as a former server I believe that is a great incentive. generally speaking I always tip 20% or more depending on service. With that being said, at least do 18% worth of work, the servers there act and move as if they don’t care because they’re getting paid anyways. The idea of the automatic tip sounds great, but your servers are the reason people don’t like it and complain. Our server in particular just seemed out of it, and I tried being patient because we all have our days and she was sweet but it took over 15 minutes to get anything done. We asked for silverware 3 different times and didn’t get it until after i food sat in-front of us for over 5 minutes. Only to receive dirty silverware and continue to wait to get it replaced. Speaking of dirty stuff, their dishwasher was broken, they barely had plates or cups. Now i also don’t care about having a to go cup instead of plastic, but the whole restaurant was just falling apart. Barely anybody else in there, dead for a Sunday morning and now I see why. Lastly the food was just not good and I just don’t know how considering its a chain restaurant and the other location’s food is phenomenal. I was so excited to get my favorite meal and was so disappointed. The bacon in another dish was undercooked, the fries were hard and way over fried. Then when the returned food got taken off the bill, server still charged us for the side of fries, thats supposed to come with the meal. Just sketchy stuff happening, anything to drive the bill up and increase their already added tip. All in all we were so disappointed. I felt bad for the server so I wasn’t going to make a huge thing out of the terrible experience, but I also feel like no one there cares at all, so even expressing concerns to a manager would be a waste of time. Everyone was just standing around or sitting at the booths bored with life but when they get customers, its like they don’t give you a reason to come back. Also the precut pies were just sitting on an open shelf behind our booth, that was gross, would never eat that. Id rate it zero stars if I could. Would suggest any other breakfast place around honestly don’t waste your time.

Walk and was seated. Informed of the 18% gratitude before we even ordered. Was so ready to walk out. Gave them a chance. Ate breakfast was the worst. Got the check and had the tip already added in. We left. No tip. 2 most dissatisfied customer’s ever. NEVER AGAIN.

The food was great, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Our server, Tiffany, became hasty and curt when I told her I was not satisfied with my order. She facilitated the change in my meal, but unfortunately she left me with a bad taste in my mouth for Village Inn. I believe that our poor service may have been impacted by the mandatory 18% tip that gets included in the bill. No matter how long she took to check on us in a nearly empty restaurant, no matter what she neglected to offer us, and no matter how short she was when she spoke to me, she still got paid a tip. Unbelievable….

First time I ate here and I have heard great things but honestly I was not impressed, tip is included so I feel like the waitress should go above and beyond, she did not forgot the lemon for our water and we each got 1 napkinn. The food… got country fried steak and although the posture showed full size steak we got one a quarter of that size that had been cooked way to long… won’t be back

It is wild that they change 3.99 for a cup of soda! For two adult drinks and two kids drinks alone it was $11.00. The service was not very good at all, they literally left a blaring alarm going the whole 45 min we was there and didn’t shut it off till we was paying the bill. Not to mention they automatically charge a %18 service fee! The waitress literally argued about what came in the meal I was ordering even though it clearly said it in the description in the menu and I really didn’t feel like tipping for scrappy service but was given no choice. Will not be back.

I ordered the strawberry crepes. I asked for extra filling and extra strawberries. I’ll give a 5 for creativity, this is why. I didn’t get extra cream filling. They did fold extra strawberries in the crepe to look bigger as if there was more cream. I didn’t feel as if it was a regular amount of filling. That’s a first.
The bacon was a good flavor and wasn’t salty or thick. You have to ask for soft scrambled eggs or they will be dry.
