I had a wonderful breakfast at Village Grille in Claremont, and it was one of those meals that just hits all the right notes. I ordered the veggie omelette made with egg whites, and it was absolutely delicious—light, fluffy, and perfectly cooked. The vegetables were fresh and flavorful, and the melted cheese tied everything together beautifully without overpowering the omelette. It felt hearty yet wholesome, which is not always easy to pull off.
The ambiance made the experience even better. Village Grille has such a warm, welcoming vibe—comfortable, relaxed, and inviting, the kind of place where you want to linger over your coffee and enjoy the morning.
On top of that, the service was attentive and friendly. The staff was genuinely kind, checked in at just the right moments, and made me feel well taken care of without ever rushing the experience.

Such a cute 50’s diner! It’s so homey and customer service is always super nice! You can’t go wrong ordering any comfort food from here! This time I ordered the eggs Benedict! Love coming here, especially for the nostalgic feeling and of course the service!

Iconic classic diner. Great food and prices. Really nice and attentive staff. Shelly is excellent. She keeps the coffee flowing and has a great energy. We love French Toast. Even when it is busy there is rarely a wait. The diner bar is a great option too. It is an old building, so not the best for ADA but I think they have ways to make a wheelchair work. If I could give zero stars, I would. The front desk took our name and decided not to call us — seemingly because of our skin color. No one could explain why our name was crossed off, and we ended up waiting an extra 40 minutes with a baby. Absolutely unacceptable behavior.
This is not an one off incident, their previous review shows customer experiencing racial discrimination.
The food was equally disappointing — possibly the worst in LA. The “Philly cheesesteak” tasted nothing like one; they should just call it a roast beef dip.
This place left us feeling disrespected and disgusted. Never again.

Oh my goodness!! A friend recommended this place for an all-day breakfast spot and MAN, it was GREAT!!!! I love classic diners. It has that homey old-school vibe, even a pic from “I Love Lucy” (one of my favs).
We were greeted with a warm smiling “hello.” It’s quaint and clean with a wonderful staff. Good variety of breakfast options and they allow substitutions*. Lorena was our server. She and the other server were sooo sweet. Even one of the cooks saw me trying to get her attention and called her for me. Speaking of cooks, my food was perrrrfect!!!! I ordered the Healthy Omelette which had egg whites, spinach, broccoli, avocado & more. I switched out the sliced tomato & cottage cheese for hash browns and….wait for it..some of the best blueberry pancakes I’ve had in a loooong time. I had to take off the powdered sugar but they were soooooo good! Aaaand they bring hot syrup (none of that high fructose but real syrup). They were an upcharge but totally worth it!!
I cannot wait to get back there the next time I’m in that area! That section of town is filled with Mom & Pop stores.

The food was really good. I tried the country fried steak and added a pancake. To me the country fried steak was really good and the pancake was one of the better ones I have ever had. The only thing was the ketchup… I wish and hope they add another option for the ketchup. Other than that it was a really good breakfast. Wish I had taken pictures but will next time.

I met a friend here for lunch. We were sat outside, which was perfect. Our waitress was very attentive and professional. The Rueben and fries were delicious. My guest ordered a cheeseburger and salad, which he said were very good, as well.
The prices are a bit high, but that can be said about most places, these days.

Location: Good, Parking:Street, Service: Decent, Price for food received: Average. Military Discount: No, Overall: First time try and the place is small but did have a decent crowd. Two ladies who were servers were able to handle most of the orders with ease and check and refill coffee without asking. Food came out pretty quick and had a good taste. So yes I would come back again and try more meals. This a breakfast and lunch restaurant and closes by 3pm. As for my review…today 4 Stars…
