I have been a customer of Village Deli since 1998. I ordered via Grub Hub this evening. According to GH it took an hour and ten mins to make my chicken salad sand and side of pasta salad. The order was $15.55. See pics below of what I received. I have come to know Village Deli sandwiches as large. So large I can usually only eat half. SO disappointed in this location. Definitely not what I’m used to from this company. Maybe I’ll stick to the one in the Village District.

I got lunch on wheels here yesterday after eating at the Raleigh location the previous day. Today I got a shrimp po boy and my son got fish and chips. The fries and onion rings weren’t hot and the only sauce included for the po boy was shrimp cocktail. Yuck on that. The bright spot for me today was the potato salad. It was freaking AMAZING!!!! The coleslaw was also better here than in Raleigh.

Lunch was over $40 for two people to get sandwiches, sides, and one drink. Nothing was overly flavorful and to be honest the serving sizes were just small for what you pay. The onion rings were very good, but not many included.

It is a nice place, but maybe a but tight trying to fit as many tables as possible. Especially when having a conversation, 2 other tables say, sorry for eavesdropping, but I’m also….
Not in a terrible or bad way, but that’s alot of tables.
You place your order and then sit down, like when you order inside a fast food restaurant, but doesn’t look fast food or taste. Not bare bones looking. It’s warm and inviting. Everyone enjoyed their foods, other than some ever so slight issues of someone asking for no croutons on salad and wanting burger a little more medium than medium well. So nothing major really. Food was good.

After paying $30 and waiting 20 min for a sandwich and burger, the order was wrong. They gave us a sandwich loaded with onions and almost no chicken (not at all the sandwich we asked for). We were so hungry that we choked it down the best we could. There aren’t many restaurants in Wake Forest, so we’ll return at some point, but it won’t be any time soon. Do better or charge less.

It was very loud at lunch. We ordered sandwiches at the counter and sat down. He ordered a 1000 island burger special. The bun was covered in wet shredded lettuce smothered with thin 1000 island. The burger was very sloppy. I had a beef and cheese panning that was fairly good. We both had potato salad and enjoyed it.

I posted below as Jerry H. I complained that the prices were not the same on the menu as they were when I paid. The response that I got asked me if I had an old menu. Really? This was a dine in experience. The menus in your restaurant did not match what I paid. I asked for the manager and she said sorry the prices have changed. I said you need new menus with the correct prices. She said that there was nothing she could do about that. So if I had an old menu. You put it out there for me to use. Don’t try to put this on me. I cannot actually believe you attempted that.
