I haven’t found my ‘go to’ place at the Village District, but this isn’t it.
On the positive side, they let me swap the side (chips?) that came with the sandwich for a fountain drink, which I am not sure I’ve seen offered elsewhere.

My wife and I joined family for a lunch date at the original location, Village District on Daniels St. in Raleigh. . . good food, and nice atmosphere at the deli. Inside & Outside seating available. At Sunday brunch we were lucky to find a table for 6!
As you enter, there’s a “order line” at the front counter. So many choices of soups, salads, sandwiches, paninis, and burgers!
My wife likes Reubens, I usually go for the double decker club sandwiches! Fresh ingredients are the BEST, and these sandwiches didn’t disappoint!
( I have to question “ fresh fish” at a place so far from any oceans or lakes? But they did advertise wild caught shrimp for their Po’boy sandwiches! I also noticed English pub style Fish n’ Chips on the menu ? )
As the servers carried salads and paninis by our table. . . tough to wait for our sandwiches to be made! Eventually our food arrived, everyone enjoyed their selections.

Overall, we’d certainly return for another round of good food at the Village Deli & Grill! Thank you for a delicious lunch !
First time having lunch here today and it was absolutely amazing! I had the French dip sandwich and it was perfect — tender, flavorful, and just the right amount of au jus. The sweet potato fries were great too, especially paired with their amazing ranch. My wife had the Philly steak and cheese, and after sneaking a bite I can say it was just as delicious. Great food, great flavors — we’ll definitely be back!
