My daughter and I stopped here for a fairly quick and affordable supper option last night. My daughter enjoyed her Apple and bacon panini. I had the pastrami, which was alright. The slaw was good but there was something just off about the cabbage. Not the restaurants fault…I put it right on my pastrami sandwich and then didn’t notice it as much. We got onion rings. The serving is plentiful and we were very happy they were beer battered. They were just a bit too done. I wish I would have taken a picture…..will be giving ya another whirl to try something different. Love that you have homemade dressings!

The cashier was super friendly! The food was delicious. They have plenty of outdoor seating but parking can be tight.

I got the BLT toasted with sourdough bread and it was 10/10, definitely coming back!

Got the turkey sandwich on ciabatta (which was an added charge – like 25 cents, not sure why they bother!) thinking that would ensure it was the best quality. This ciabatta was more like a square shaped roll that seemed to come from a giant food distributor rather than a bakery. The vidalia onion sauce was so sweet, I don’t know why you’d want sugar on a turkey sandwich but that’s what it seemed like. The turkey was fine, but this was not a generous portion (versus my current favorite: Brooklyn Pickle… or even Primo Hoagies).

I haven’t found my ‘go to’ place at the Village District, but this isn’t it.

On the positive side, they let me swap the side (chips?) that came with the sandwich for a fountain drink, which I am not sure I’ve seen offered elsewhere.

My wife and I joined family for a lunch date at the original location, Village District on Daniels St. in Raleigh. . . good food, and nice atmosphere at the deli. Inside & Outside seating available. At Sunday brunch we were lucky to find a table for 6!

As you enter, there’s a “order line” at the front counter. So many choices of soups, salads, sandwiches, paninis, and burgers!
My wife likes Reubens, I usually go for the double decker club sandwiches! Fresh ingredients are the BEST, and these sandwiches didn’t disappoint!

( I have to question “ fresh fish” at a place so far from any oceans or lakes? But they did advertise wild caught shrimp for their Po’boy sandwiches! I also noticed English pub style Fish n’ Chips on the menu ? )

As the servers carried salads and paninis by our table. . . tough to wait for our sandwiches to be made! Eventually our food arrived, everyone enjoyed their selections.

Overall, we’d certainly return for another round of good food at the Village Deli & Grill! Thank you for a delicious lunch !

The food has gone down on quality dramatically over the years. The soups, which used to be their best feature, are now pretty much flavorless and uninspired. The sandwiches are okay, but school lunch level. But the worst part is that the prices have gone up with inflation while the quality decreased. Sad stuff.

This is a place that has been around for awhile. I had the classic sub which one would expect to be the poster child of sandwiches, meh. The meats and cheese was all decent quality but nothing that made my taste buds holler. They gave me white instead of wheat as well. My daughter had the egg salad on a croissant, meh as well. She said the egg salad was too sweet. The STAR of the show was her cup of roasted red pepper and Gouda soup!!! I should have bought a gallon to carry home. The depth of flavor was unexpected and satisfying. The consistency was spot on with bits of roasted red peppers and cheese, heavenly! It would be a shame to learn they don’t make it themselves. Ignorance here is my bliss. Big oversight on the COVID front is they their menu is not all on a board but rather menus that are in bins that everyone handles and puts back in the same spot, no cleaning. I looked at the menu online to decide what I wanted. Also they tables weren’t cleaned regularly and I went on a Saturday about noon. Overall decent “cafe/deli”, they serve chicken tenders, if you are in the area ok but I wouldn’t make it a destination.

Went on a quiet Saturday night, service was friendly and food came out quickly. Overall the food was okay – surprised to see my club sandwich not toasted, fries were under salted. Husband’s black bean burger pretty much disintegrated. But, the pasta salad and hummus plate were good! If I lived nearby I would probably come back to try some other selections but just traveling through I’d pick somewhere new to try.

First time having lunch here today and it was absolutely amazing! I had the French dip sandwich and it was perfect — tender, flavorful, and just the right amount of au jus. The sweet potato fries were great too, especially paired with their amazing ranch. My wife had the Philly steak and cheese, and after sneaking a bite I can say it was just as delicious. Great food, great flavors — we’ll definitely be back!

Never been here before. I got the southwest burger and fries and an order of onion rings. The burger was thick, tasty, and cooked to perfection! Super juicy and topped with avocado, pepper jack cheese and lettuce and tomato. The fries were hot and crispy and the onion rings were the best I have had in a long time! The service was great and the food was ready very quickly. I will go back again!
