Trying to find a good Tex-Mex place that wasn’t a chain, we stumbled across Village Cafe. It’s a quaint little diner that claimed to offer what we were looking for so we tried it. Good decision!
I had the Stacked Enchiladas, and my wife had the Lazy Man’s Navajo Taco. Both were huge! Neither of us expected much. We were very pleasantly surprised.
The sauce was spicy, not the bland sauce with extra vinegar many places serve. The beans weren’t mushy and bland, the tortilla for the taco was crispy but not burnt.
In all, well worth the few dollars we spent and much better food than we’d have found at a chain location. If you’re in the area and looking for some authentic food, look no further than Village Cafe.

We took our family of 6 in and the waitress could not have been sweeter to us and our girls. The portions were huge, more than I could finish! I had the Navajo Taco and I highly recommend it! My husband had the Navajo Taco green chile cheeseburger and loved it. We’ll be back for sure!

First, food was very good! It was takeout. Even being a little cold when I got home, it was properly packaged so nothing was soggy. Buns were oh so sweet & delicious! I like the option for chips instead of fries. Prices are under $10 a plate! Great kids options! Local Business is Los Lunas I recommend! First time I had ever been here. Their food was really good, as was our waitress. Prices were reasonable for the portions you receive. They have a food challenge along with pics of customers who were able to complete it. It was clean, and there were quite a few people there, which tells me the locals have this placed marked as a regular stop. My only critique is the food could have used more salt , but there was of course a salt shaker on the table so all was still good with me.

I posted 5 stars a year ago…. The staff (the heart) of this restaurant . Are still 5 Stars. And with an expanded menu. Delicious, home grown gourmet food. Any place that knows that a red jalapeno has a different taste than a green one. knows what flavor is all about.

Very Good. I ate their ground beef and papitas burritos. It was juicy and tasty. I like a little hotter chili, but I didn’t specify, so I simply enjoyed. The atmosphere was comfortable and it was a welcome relief out of the heat. I’ll definitely come back.

Well this was the second time I tried this place and yet again was disappointed. The food is bland no seasoning what so ever. Reminds me of home town buffet. We got the 12 pack of tacos the ground beef was tasteless and for $21 you don’t even salsa with it. We also got a order of their nachos and they are absolutely the worst nachos I have ever had. You might think how can nachos be bad. Well try them out for your self. I’m all about helping out locally owned places but avoid this place. There are other good places to visit that could use the business.
