Stopped in this place on the way up north and what a surprise to find an excellent restaurant in a small little town. The owners were very hospitable and was greeted with such a warm welcome. The service was great and the food was exceptional as well. We will stop in whenever passing through again!

Over 15 years wife and I have been going to village cafe. The owners know us very well. On Sunday may 19th we order are breakfast like we do almost every weekend. We were advised that toaster was down and she will bring it out as soon as it was fixed. In the mean time we are watching all the surrounding tables receive there toast. The time the waitress came back to check on us we were finishing eating. I asked for the bill at this time. She ran up to the owner George stating we were yelling at her. George then walked up asking about the problem. My wife simply stated we never received our toast. That second George started yelling and screaming at the top of his lungs to get out of his restaurant and we are banned. I figured it was directed more towards me and I should step out while the wife pays. My wife came to the car crying and informed me George continued to yell at her as she was just trying to pay the bill. She would not let me go back in I’m sure I would be in jail. No one should ever be humiliated like that in public in front of a restaurant for something they never have done the waitress was a drama queen, I will never step back in this restaurant even offered free breakfast for a year! The picture shows fish and chicken strip meal I ordered a year ago and i still supported them food and service has gone down

We were passing through Richmond and had the opportunity to stop for breakfast. They have quite a lot on the menu and it would satisfy most people. The atmosphere and service were definitely very good. They have some hidden gems on the menu that you might want to take a look at.

This cafe is a gem!! The staff was very personable and friendly. The owner seated us and was so sweet. We ordered the ham skillet and the potato pancakes. The food was piping hot and very good. My only critique is that the potato pancakes needed salt but that is more of a personal preference. I would highly recommend the Village cafe!!

One of the ONLY places that have REAL STEEL SKILLET breakfast meals and of course absolutely great ownership and local workers who put their heart and soul into serving us locals. George and Maria have owned the Village Cafe since back in the late 80’s / 90’s when it was the Pink Flamingo take the kids there a lot for great pancakes too. Do yourself a favor and stop in, have some great food and become friends.

EXCELLENT food and service! My daughters and I stopped on for breakfast on the way to school after fasting all morning for blood draws at the Henry Ford Clinic. Village Cafe’s extensive tastebud-tempting menu, quick and friendly service, and bottomless cups of hot coffee turned a rocky start of a morning around and made it a fresh, most perfect start! Chocolate Chip Pancakes, 2x2x2, and a Healthy Start Breakfast with Hot Chocolates and Coffee for the WIN!! The Rausch Girls thank you for an amazing breakfast and and excellent “restart” to our morning! This might of been our 1st visit in and I promise it won’t be our last.

Definitely a STAPLE in Richmond❤️ George and Maria are the most generous, loving, and kind people. They have owned this restaurant for over 35 years, and are HUGE supporters in the local community! Whether it be donations for local fundraisers, all of the Richmond kids sports teams, or simply supporting other local businesses, they never cease to express how huge their hearts are❤️ During COVID shutdowns, facing hardships themselves, and experiencing the scare of being forced to close, they still found it in their hearts to donate individual personal lunches to EVERY EMPLOYEE IN EVERY SINGLE BUSINESS in Richmond, plus EVERY police officer, first responders, EMT, nurses, dispatchers, fire fighters, postal worker, etc.
They take pride in every dish they make, and always go above and beyond even when someone is unhappy with something they ordered. All of the waitresses are smiling al and laughter is always filling the air in the background. A wonderful place to dine, work, or order carryout❤️
