An amazing full service diner with zero pretention. Service is great and the waitress even remembered our coffee preferences. Lots of choices and well prepared food! The veggie omelette was jam packed with veggies and the home fries amazing. The coffee was above average for diner coffee as well.

Tasty and homey spot for brunch with great service. They offer a pretty classic selection of breakfast items, which they prepare well. We ordered the biscuits & gravy as well as the eggs with home fries. The former of which showcased a freshly baked biscuit and meaty gravy. In the egg dish, the home fries were crispy and flavorful. Would definitely recommend stopping by.

Village Cafe is a Saturday staple for our family.
I come here every single Saturday with my three kids, and I honestly can’t recommend it more. The food is consistently delicious, the coffee is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and genuinely family-friendly—without ever feeling chaotic or overwhelming.
What really sets Village Cafe apart is how easy and pleasant they make it to come in with kids. The staff is kind, patient, and always accommodating, and the space just works for families. It’s one of the few places where you can actually relax a little while your kids are happy and fed.
It’s become part of our weekly rhythm—and that says everything. If you’re looking for a place in Newton that feels like a neighborhood gem, this is it.
Can’t recommend it enough. ❤️☕️ ️ ( !)

Stopped in for lunch. It’s clearly a local favorite, and I was impressed by the way the staff greeted and treated both the regulars and a stranger like me. The patty melt was delicious and the accompanying fries were crisp on the outside but creamy on the inside. I’ll definitely visit again when I’m in the neighborhood.

A great local diner with consistently good food and a warm, welcoming vibe. Their breakfast is excellent fresh, flavorful, and made just right. The millet dishes were a pleasant surprise, and the coffee was smooth and perfectly brewed. Overall, one of the best diner experiences I’ve had in a while.
Highly recommend!

My favorite diner in Boston. No frills, just comforting food with quick service and homey vibes. Their homemade hash and eggs are my favorite, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Well worth the wait for a great meal.

We stopped by after medical appointment at Newton Wellesley Hospital. Great decision. Intimate yet comfortable dinner type ambiance. Friendly, timely, and professional service by Tina. The food, was delicious and nicely presented. I particularly enjoyed the coconut French toast. We also liked the flexible menu where you can combine portion of various dishes. Sadly they are not close to where we live!!

My cousin and I stopped in for breakfast/brunch. Edna, our server, was a peach! I had the biscuits & gravy with scrambled eggs with a side of bacon. It was flavorful but the biscuits were flat, definitely not what a Southerner would expect. I would definitely come here again.

We went for a late breakfast today. Edna was our server. Very knowledgeable and gave us great suggestions. Showed she knew the menu well. The eggs were cooked nicely, but what I loved the most was the coconut French toast. OMG!!!! If you like coconut, you have to try it.
