Great hamburger simple and quick. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon with only one high top table left. Sat down with my family, walked up to the bar ordered our drinks. Busier than heck in there and only two people working a man and woman. The woman took my drink and food order and got the drinks asap. Was only a matter of minutes before our cheeseburgers and fries were done. I think it would’ve taken us longer to get through a fast food drive thru. Great burger and fries! Will be back again and again and again! A true Wisconsin bar! What a gem for Madison!

Came back here for the first time in 6 years on a quick trip to Madison. Brick Burger is still great. Atmosphere is still cozy and unique. They now take credit cards, which is about the only change. Worth a stop.

Haven’t eaten here, but it’s a great little neighborhood bar. The brick burger sounds like it would be worth a food run sometime. Rumor is that Jerry Seinfeld stopped here (or stops here) when he was (is) in town for a show.

Best brick burger ever! Loads of cheese with a thick slice of raw onion, and thick slices of pickle. Plenty of mustard and ketchup, all melted together into a juicy tasty real hamburger!

Heard the burgers were great and they did not disappoint! Delicious! If you’re looking for a fancy burger this isn’t your place. But if you’re looking for a simple classic delicious cheeseburger (mine had brick cheese), this is it. Cash only. Served on paper plates. Cozy corner Sconnie bar full of nostalgia. Clean and great quick service. We went with our 3 kids (8 and under) and totally kid friendly. Will definitely go again!

Many people and publications rate this as the best burger in Madison, sometimes all of Wisconsin, and I can see why. Tiny dive bar with just as many slot machines as tables and a flattop AND deep fryer squashed into corner. It’s simple food done for decades that makes it great.

We stopped in mid-afternoon for a beer and a late lunch. The burgers and fries hit the spot. Yum.

I’ve been going to the village bar for years but this was my first time going with the new ownership. I am happy to report that the food is still awesome, the atmosphere is the same, the decor is the same, and the only change that was made is that they now accept credit cards. Win, win, win!

If you’re just passing through and read that this is the best burger joint in Madison, look elsewhere. The brick burger was barely passable as fast food and they forgot one of the two ingredients (fried onions) on both of our burgers. Wouldn’t recommend this place even to someone I hate.
