Anthony and Michael Muoio opened Villa Rustica Pizzeria & Trattoria in Rye Brook, New York on June 11, 2007. As with many Italian eateries, Villa Rustica is a family affair. Two brothers own the place, and they come from a family that has been in the restaurant business for 45 years. Their dad, Tony, had pizzerias in the Bronx and Mt. Vernon.

This is our go-to pizza place in Westchester. We order from here pretty frequently and it’s always satisfying. The quality is top notch and never disappointing. When I’m craving a classic cheese pizza, Villa Rustica comes to mind and that’s always part of my order. The pizzas are a bit on the pricier side but the quantities are big.

It’s a good place with great staff. I only have a few sentences about the Chicken Saltimbocca alla Romana and the side of Penne pasta I ordered.
There was no taste, the chicken was overcooked like rubber, too much oil, and the pasta was completely dry with some marinara sauce on top. I ate a bit and left it aside.
I understand that when you have a vast menu, not everything is 100% fresh, and some stuff needs to be pre-cooked. The cook or chef must balance what is acceptable and what is not.
Cesar salad: fresh greens, excellent cheese, the sauce is too salty
Gnocchi Bolognese: great. I do recommend
French Fries: Recommend
Cheese pizza: recommended
I will definitely go back there, but I will not order the same chicken again. It was disappointing because I was looking for a place that served something different from usual “Italian food” places, so maybe I will get lucky next time.

I ordered an ice water with lemon. She brought me ice water. Five minutes later I asked where the lemon was. She said she was going to bring it with the burger????? We ordered a burger with burata- the roll and cheese were freezing. We sent it back and ordered a pizza. I literally had the pizza in my hand eating it and the guy came and asked if he could take my plate. I WAS EATING! So weird…

I’m from Riverdale in the Bronx, & will drive 20- 25 minutes, just to eat in this place. It’s in a little shopping center in Port Chester. Best Italian food ever. Hidden gem. Staff is also Fantastic.
