We called in a pick up order after looking online at their menu (or a pic of their menu) and their FB page. We only saw that they had specials for lunch that were not on the regular menu so we were a little disappointed that we didn’t get a try any of those food items. But once we came into pick up our order, she informed up they have specials but they are no where to be found apparently online & nothing was said about the specials when we called. I even let her know we have never ate here before, as I like to do with new restaurants because they can sometimes fill you in on things they have.
We ordered two orders of the Patty Melts, one with corn nuggets & one with fries. We also ordered a buffalo style chicken sandwich with Cole slaw and an extra side of potato salad as I wanted to try theirs.
The Patty Melts were awful! It was a huge, greasy, hockey puck of hamburger with ZERO seasoning! The sauce was good but they only put it on half the sandwich (as you can see in the pics/video) which was very disappointing because it was the only flavor on the sandwich. The cheese was nice & thick & melted well on the sandwich. But the bread was soggy and halfway toasted. The fries were mid, no seasoning either. Dry. I had to salt them up which is not something I typically do with take out fries as they usually are seasoned. The Texas toast had potential, they just slapped it on and back off the grill real fast apparently. Which….I don’t get the rush as they only had one singular elderly gentleman sitting in the dinning room when we picked up our order.
Once we got there, We were informed they didn’t even have the coleslaw. So my son chose the potato salad instead. Which was a huge mistake because it tasted like the nasty, cheap stuff at Kroger’s. Just rancid & all you can taste is mayo. Yuck! I couldn’t even eat my side of it.
The buffalo style chicken sandwich was also dry. My son said he was really shocked it didn’t have any sauce on it and that the only flavoring is from the breading on the chicken. Never got a buffalo style chicken sandwich that didn’t have a buffalo sauce on it. Very odd….
& Last but not least (even though it was the least amount) the dang corn nuggets….for $4.50 you literally get 8 pieces of cheap, frozen, mass produced corn nuggets that they dropped in oil and plopped In the Styrofoam tray. What a rip off! At least they give you a decent portion of fries for a side but $4.50 for this tiny amount? Not cool.
The prices were decent for the rest of the food but All together it just felt like whoever they have cooking the food really does not want to be cooking the food.
I understand it’s just a bar & grill & not to expect much but, We are firm believers that sometimes the little hole in the wall places end up being the best! We had high hopes for this place but it really disappointed us. Probably won’t be returning which is unfortunate as we live 9 minutes away & love having local places to support.
