I came here for lunch with my family, party of five. We drove 1.5 hours from Brooklyn because my mother-in-law lives in Pompton Plains, NJ and we wanted to come somewhere close to her. I ordered my steak medium rare, but it arrived closer to medium well. When I raised the issue, the waiter insisted it was medium rare, and cut into my steak at the table, telling me to cut closer to the bone. I had already cut the steak. Him cutting it was gaslighting as if I don’t cook and know how a medium rare steak is supposed to look. It was still well. The manager initially came over and argued the doneness with me in a way that felt dismissive and unprofessional to everyone at the table and the two guests sitting next to us who mentioned that they have been here before and he is always nasty to people. It pissed my husband off so much he got up and had words with the manager/owner who told my husband if he keeps talking he isn’t gonna have anything nice to say to him.

Everyone at the table agreed the steak was not medium rare. While a replacement was made, the interaction itself was uncomfortable and unnecessary. I didn’t eat. That said, the manager/owner did later return to the table and offered a sincere apology, which I appreciated. It had been a busy Christmas Eve and he said he was not having the best day. Mistakes happen and I for one can understand that but the rudeness was out of this world for someone paying top dollar. How they handled it matters, and while the initial response missed the mark, the apology was the right thing to do. My mother-in-law lives at Cedar Crest and her and many of the residents support this restaurant but after how I was treated today she said she will not even be back. I have been here before and had a great time but not this time. You don’t treat paying customers this way. I wasn’t rude about it when I called the waiter over and more importantly I am paying my money for a steak cooked the way I like it. This isn’t Applebee’s or some fast food joint. You are supposed to be paying for quality.

I hope future guests are met with understanding and professionalism from the start. I cook all the time. I have made many steaks from tomahawks to ribeyes and I know that when you cook a medium rare steak you can’t leave it sitting under the warmer because it will continue to cook. All I wanted was acknowledgment and understanding, not combativeness.

I won’t be coming back here again but I appreciate the apology. They also ended up making me another steak that I didn’t eat! My guests ate and I went back to Brooklyn hungry and went to a lounge that treats me right! I served it to my dog for Christmas breakfast but I want you to see what they told me adamantly and rudely couldn’t be done but miraculously it was done!

Amazing restaurant, the food is exquisite, and they serve quite generous portions. Paella was delicious, and they have signature round potato chips super crunchy. Service and staff were friendly.
Plenty of parking available.
The place is really good, and with that a bit busy. The waiting time to get seated was a bit more than expected.

Always excellent food, service and clean restaurant in a white tablecloth setting. These were tonight’s lamb chops and veal chop specials. Very good! Soup of the day was a traditional vegetable red bean soup the kind of soup I grew up eating regularly in a Portuguese household. Tasted just like grandma used to make. Not a cheap dinner by any means specials were $60 and $49 but I did get 8 baby lamp chops and the preparations are excellent and authentic Portuguese food. We also have leftovers for another dinner tomorrow. Manny is the best waiter I always enjoy it extra when he serves us.

Food was amazing!!! Chorizo app and shrimp are a must try. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. Solid wine selection.

Service was impeccable. Multiple servers made sure food and drinks came out on time. They all were great to talk with.

Locations is solid. Doesn’t do the food or service justice – but clean and enjoyable with ample parking behind.

We just had dinner here for our 32nd wedding anniversary and we were quite pleased. The staff was great and the food was exceptional. They had the best red sangria I have tasted in a while. We also took food home and we were pleasantly surprised when we got the bill. Excellent restaurant!!

We ordered 6 paella valenciana for new years eve. We also got some appetizers and 2 pitchers of sangria spent alot of money. When we got home we had no chorizo or chicken in our paella. It was very disappointing as we have eaten there before and we were expecting the chorizo for the flavor. Very disappointing knowing we spent over $400. And the paella was missing stuff. Also the sangria we had to add seltzer to it because it just taste like dry wine. Overall not a pleasant experience.

I had this restaurant on my list for a while and was looking forward to trying it. When I arrived I parked in their lot. I walked in and was greeted and asked if I could sit at the bar which I did. Manny was my bartender and he was great. I started with a red sangria and it was tasty. For my meal I got the garlic shrimp and when it came out it looked so good. I dug in and it was very tasty. It tasted great with the bread they had as well. The bill was a little shy of $40. I really enjoyed my experience and would return.

I have driven past this place for years and never noticed it was there. The Food is fabulous and our waiter Manny was just as good. I had the shrimp and garlic sauce and I would definitely recommend it. I tasted the soft shell crab special and the Paella Valencia and they were very good. The prices and servings are similar to other Spanish/Portuguese restaurants in the Ironbound district in Newark, but it’s nice to have a gem so close in Wayne.

Had a fantastic experience for my mom’s 90th birthday yesterday. Arturo was our head waiter. Made sure everything came out perfectly. As much good food as we wanted. We did the family style package with 6 appetizers, chicken, veal and shrimp with penne pasta. All sides included. Desserts included. Delicious sangria, Beer and wine also included.
