Service was a bit on the slower side, but given that it was Christmas Eve and the restaurant was packed with a special menu running, it was completely understandable. Desserts were enjoyable, although the crème brûlée was slightly lacking in flavour compared to the rest of the meal. Still, the quality of the meat more than made up for it.
We ordered steaks, lamb steaks, and lobster. The steaks were excellent, but the lobster truly stole the show — it was so delicious that we even thought about ordering more! The fresh juice wasn’t great, but all the food was otherwise excellent.
The average price for a meal starts around $35, which is definitely worth it for the quality and taste. Highly recommended, especially for the lobster. Thank you to the team for the wonderful experience — much appreciated!
Located in the heart of the Old Montreal, this gem is a must-try for tourists who want to taste one of the best that this city has to offer.
I ordered the Lobster Linguine, and it tasted really bad almost completely flavorless and there was barely any lobster in it.
The escargot wasn’t very good either.
Surprisingly, the simplest dish, the Caesar salad, was actually the best.
The steak was decent overall, but still overpriced for what you get.
Overall, I wasn’t impressed with the food I received. If you’re looking for good value for the price you pay, this place isn’t it. But if you just want to dine somewhere in Old Montreal for the atmosphere, then it might work for you.
As for the service, the male server who took care of my table initially came by often to check if everything was okay. But after he saw my reaction while eating the pasta plus the almost untouched dish he never came back to ask about anything again. I guess he wanted to avoid hearing feedback about that pasta dish. Pretty funny, honestly.
Also, the tables were way too small—more like café tables—which really took away from the dining experience. The overall atmosphere wasn’t very nice either.
I came here for my anniversary, and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place for a special occasion. I was very disappointed. However, if you’re just planning a casual dinner, it might be fine…. But just be aware of the tipping here
We ordered steak. The steak itself was juicy, but the sides were very low quality and poorly presented.
A couple of issues:
– After bringing the order, the waitress came and said, “Oh, I forgot to ask what kind of sauce you want with the steak.” We chose one, but then found out each sauce cost an extra $4. Seriously? That’s just cheap.
– We had a reservation, yet we still had to wait. The hostess outside was rude, didn’t apologize, and acted like it was normal, as if the place was so good we should just accept it.
To sum up: skip this place and head next door to The Keg Steakhouse. The food is much better, more delicious, and the staff are truly professional.
