Amazing food, amazing taste, good value for money. Beef Stew combo with rice has lots pieces of beef – the soup is very tasty and perfect serving amount. Very tasty pork and chicken rolls. I recommend! 🙂

We ordered two beef pho, which is a classic and popular choice on the menu. While it was acceptable, it didn’t really stand out as the best. If you’re looking for something different, this could be a good alternative to consider.

We had the Pho bo (Raw beef noodles), Pho bo kho (Beef stew) & summer rolls.
All were delicious, nutritious & filling.
A great local family restaurant. (Photos were taken after we tucked in)

Went for lunch and it was delicious. We both got lemon grass chicken dishes and a slushie drink. Staff were very friendly and it’s a nice atmosphere. Will be going back to try other dishes as well as their drinks

Handy location, friendly staffs yet spring roles are a bit average. No free hot tea… No soup with rice…

Food is not too bad. Veinamese coffee is way too sweet, extra 50cent for condensed milk

Poor service and communication. Waited almost an hour for our order. There were only 2 tables of 4 couples when we walked in.Busy Taupo weekend and the big families came in while we waited. After approaching the counter, we finally got our order. Must say worth the wait, the deep beefy soup smothered with the star anise and cinnamon flavors just bind in the sweetness of the broth. It was very tasty compared to the many Vietnamese outlets in Auckland. The best that I have tasted. The spring rolls were not the usual kind, long and narrow, but yet again, it was very good. We ordered the lemon grass chicken noodles, and really, that lemon grass infusion was pure powering in a delicious way…..we, we don’t get those flavors elsewhere. We could almost forgive the poor service! Upon settling our bill, we got charged for items we did not order, and after a struggling comm, we finally sorted it out.

A Must-Try Vietnamese Gem!

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at this incredible Vietnamese restaurant—not just once, but three days in a row! From the very first bite, we knew we had found something special.

The food is unbelievably fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic, rich flavors that left us craving more. And the iced coffee? Hands down, the best coffee I have ever had—smooth, bold, and perfectly sweetened. It was simply unforgettable!

Beyond the amazing food, the service was outstanding. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and kind, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.

If you’re looking for absolutely delectable Vietnamese cuisine, do yourself a favor and visit this place. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss!

Got a beef pho and lemon grass chicken on rice takeaway. Food was pretty good esp the chicken on rice, but waiting time was insane. Was originally told 15-20mins but took about 40 mins, though we did come at a really busy time. Takeaways up the road took like 10mins so this set us back. The pho had some nice flavors but had beef rice balls which I’m not a fan of, interested to see how it may taste in the restaurant with the sauces and being served hot from the kitchen.

Venue: 3/5
The setting is modest and functional, but lacks the warmth or distinctive character you’d expect from a Vietnamese eatery. While clean and tidy, it doesn’t create an atmosphere that elevates the dining experience.

Food: 3/5
The dishes were generally average, with nothing particularly memorable. A surprising disappointment was the undercooked rice—an unexpected flaw for an Asian restaurant where rice is a staple. Flavors were acceptable but lacked depth and authenticity, leaving the meal feeling uninspired.

Service: 3/5
Service was polite but unremarkable. When the issue with the rice was raised, there was no attempt to address or rectify it. Additionally, the waiter seemed unsure about which dish was being served, which detracted from confidence in the overall experience.

Cost: 3.5/5
Pricing was reasonable and offers fair value for what’s provided. However, given the shortcomings in food quality and service, the cost doesn’t feel fully justified. This creates an opportunity for competitors—such as Auckland’s Halong Café—to establish a presence in Taupo and raise the standard for Vietnamese cuisine in the area.
