Waited 40 minutes for the bottled water we paid for, despite there being three people in the venue.
One hour later, received the worst tom yum soup I have ever seen or tasted (it was ridiculously sweet and not a tom yum), and was argued with aggressively by the two staff in house about the 40-minute wait on the bottles of water (wtaf!). Still waiting on cold rolls and Pho at this stage, too.
Meanwhile, an argument ensued between the solitary two staff and another patron over the obscene wait.
Seriously, stay away from this place until they employ more staff (who are not aggressive when questioned), or they go out of business and get taken over. The way it is currently is pretty terrible and not working for them – it needs to change and drastically.
At least I was given a refund in full and we left having still not received the cold rolls or pho and we went and elsewhere for a very late dinner.
From my experience, not worth it. Avoid.
** Edit: please read owner’s reply below, as it is evidence of the hostility, terrible service and unfounded agression on display when even politely and reasonably questioned. For the owner’s reference, this is my name, too. There is no agenda other than giving very reasonble feedback so changes can be made. I was communicating openly and giving credit for the refund. Calling me names and attacking me personally does not help you. Ta.
The owners were very friendly and courteous. The lady helped me to use the digital ordering screen, as I did not have my glasses with me.
My order was made quickly and I left very happy.
The banh mi was amazing. The roll was nice and soft on the inside and the amount of filling was very good, with just the right amount of chilli.
The peanut sauce for the satays was flavoursome and also with just the right amount of chilli. It didn’t taste like a westernised version of sauce.
I highly recommend this friendly, clean establishment.
The Food: You have to try the Crispy Pork Banh Mi. The flavours are authentic and always fresh. It’s rare to find this quality at such a reasonable price point these days.
The Service: The owners are genuinely friendly and clearly care about their regulars. They work hard to keep the standard high every single time I visit.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quick, delicious lunch or a relaxed dinner. A true neighbourhood gem.
Would be my good to if I lived there!
Service was helpful and friendly.
Steamed rice cakes, cold rolls and wonton soup were good, as was the pork rice bowl.
Would recommend.
