I ordered a rare steak and brisket pho, an order of korean corn dog, and a pineapple drink. The rear meat was packaged separate outside of the broth, which was great. I cannot state how awesome the broth is. It is rich and flavourful, and one of the best broths i’ve had. Some serious love and knowledge goes into this soup. The korean corn dogs were hot and crispy and fresh.
I read some reviews, so already knew to go containers are extra ( they have a whole sign that lets you know about that and encourages folks to bring in their own containers). The prices are very fair. I highly recommend giving this place a try. Seriously – this broth.
Bun thit nuong was not as nice. Lacking the fresh flavors you normally get from Vietnamese food.
The shrimp spring rolls were good, but the peanut sauce was way too sweet..
Highly recommend the pho, will try again next time for bahn mi
Just happened upon this spot. Yes, it’s a little shady feeling, yes the English barrier is there, yes there were local folks and YES it was one of the best bowls of Pho I’ve ever had… And that counts the many bowls I had in Vietnam.
Ordered 3 entrees including a kids pho. Was checking my order after paying when a lady ran from the back kitchen to tell me they accidentally gave me to a regular pho and asked me to go back to the register and pay the difference.
Not stressing over a few dollars but was just weirded out that they wanted me to pay extra for their mistake? Still just asked for the kids pho so they took the other one back, I’m assuming to give to someone else?
Whole thing just disappointed me since I’ve been coming there for nearly a decade but it’s not worth it anymore. Would rather go to Pho Nation or Peppermint Baguette nearby. Don’t want to trash a small family business but they charge too much to keep coming up way short.
Service is kinda hit and miss too. Had my order dropped off at another table where I watched it sit for 5 mins before the server put it back on the plate and brought it to me.
IMHO;the spot has somewhat gone down hill in the past few years but the food is still solid. Anyway you slice it it’s still worlds better than the weinerschitznel it replaced in this location many moons ago. It’s kinda hilarious to be eating Vietnamese food outside the building/ architecture/ infrastructure of former hot dog stand
