The banh Xeo (crispy crepe like pancake with pork and shrimp and bean sprouts) today is so much better than last time I was here, light and crispy and cooked just right (not brownish). Came with lots of fresh lettuce and mint. My friends were with me, they ordered banh Xeo , com tam bi suong Cha (rice with grilled pork, egg sort like frittata with vermicelli and ground pork – it wasn’t pork chop just pork Loin) and bun thit heo nuong (vermicelli with grilled pork). Service was fast. Refills of water even when we didn’t ask.

We visited Vietnam Garden because we had hosted Jolie on her visit to the DC area. Jolie’s mother runs the restaurant and we were so well taken care of. The food was wonderful – the spring rolls, the noodles, the tofu with mixed vegetables, the salad. I loved the idea of serving lettuce with crispy spring rolls and I wrapped the spring roll in a lettuce leaf and the resulting textural taste was superb. This is how I will always have crispy spring rolls in the future. If you are a vegetarian don’t worry – the vegetarian quality is very good and I know since I am a vegetarian. And the hospitality was amazing. The food feels very healthy and no added preservatives or fats – so just like home cooked food. The bathroom was amazingly clean and to me when a bathroom is so clean it means the restaurant takes cleanliness very seriously and not just for show. Finally at the end giving us sesame bars instead of the usual fortune cookie is a gem. The fortune cookie I usually never eat because it is unhealthy, but I loved the sesame bar. This really is a gem of Virginia Beach that is one of the best places to get lunch or dinner there when you are at the beach.

Great food and service . Been coming here for years. Daniel and the chef (I don’t know her name) are gracious hosts. Keep up the good work! Our family are big fans.

As soon as i walked in, i saw no asians in sight. I have a feeling this pho place is not real authentic. I had a pho combination and barely any meats in it. The rare beefs has foul odor. The broth was ok” The broth notes were not there like most authentic pho restaurants. I had better pho and this was not one of them. The service was quick and nice but the pho authentic was lacking. Pho should be hitting in your face as soon as you walked through the door. The pho smelled was faint. Not up to my pho broth par. Not authentic and I figured why hardly asians go there. It is more to american tastes than real vietnamese authentic. Very disappointed in the flavor who claimed to be chef. The owner is chinese and the broth has a soy sauce flavor than authentic real vietnamese flavor. Very misleading because the name is vietnam garden and the chef is not vietnamese.
