Vietnamese spring rolls are one of my favorites and are pretty good here. We also ordered the fried broccoli, and one of the pho salad meals. All of it was good and will definitely be back

Really great spot for dinner. Easy location for the hotel guests and students. Wait staff was friendly and fast. Food was absolutely delicious and fast. Egg rolls were out of this world. Will definitely be coming back on my next visit to Kansas City.

There was a live bug in my food. When I complained they only refunded me for that dish specifically (even though we didn’t eat any of it.. bc there was a live bug in our food..). They refunded me $6 for an almost $40 meal. When I requested a full refund they said they couldn’t do that, but instead gave me ‘store credit’ for the next time I ate there. Which I guess is okay? The problem is I probably won’t be eating there again lol 🙁

Excellent Vietnamese Cafe. Pho is great. And the spring rolls are excellent. They moved recently -ish. But have always been 1 of our favorites in Kansas City.

Pros: Very Clean facilities, pleasant staff
Cons: This is Vietnamese food. It should be amazingly flavorful and it was bland. I had grape leaf beef and lemongrass chicken. Neither taste it like they were appropriately Marinated, and on par with other Vietnamese restaurants serve high quality food. Atmosphere wise it was okay, but it’s a gorgeous 65 outside and 76 in here, fans kept the air moving and made it bearable.

Vietnam Cafe 39 is outstanding. The pho is deeply flavorful with a rich, comforting broth, and the egg noodle soup is just as impressive. Every bite is perfectly balanced and seasoned, the kind of food that keeps you going back for more. Truly satisfying from start to finish and an absolute delight.

Loved the Pho soup. I had tofu and Vegatable with light noodles and my husband had steak pho. Great place, good atmosphere too!

Surprisingly good food. I stumbled upon this place after shopping in the area. The outside is a bit underwhelming, but inside is pretty big, though a little dark for a restaurant. Mask is required during COVID period. We were quickly sat down and placed our orders. Service is very fast and friendly. We ordered the vermicelli spring roll as app, a basil chicken fried rice and a vermicelli salad bowl as main dishes. Every dish tastes good. The basil chicken was a little burnt but maybe that’s how it should be cooked? lol not sure but they all taste good. Highly recommend!

I was so excited to hear this was the same Vietnam Cafe that used to be across from KU Med years ago, but in a new location and new ownership. I had thought the old one closed a long time ago! The menu had all my familar favorites and it was the best bowl of shrimp Pho I’ve had in years. So glad my favorite Vietnamese restaurant is still here! P.S. Try the iced coffee.

Came in 20 before closing, takeout only – cool. Asked if I could do a kids pho and it’s only dine-in, understood but little frustrated.
Get home and open my bag to see raw meat hanging out of the container .. open the box and raw meat is placed over all garnishes .. noodles bloody. AND the pho broth wasn’t even topped off.
I’ve visited many pho restaurants, west to east coast, and all either separate their meat or wrap it so it does not cross contaminate. Can’t even save half my noodles for tomorrow’s lunch
Crab Rangoon was good though…
