I don’t usually go out of my way to write restaurant reviews, but Viet Taste deserves every bit of praise it gets. Hands down, this is the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had in Illinois. I live a good distance away, yet I still make the drive just to eat here because nothing else compares. That should tell you how worth it this place is.
The flavors at Viet Taste are authentic, fresh, and prepared with a level of care that really sets them apart from other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Every dish I’ve tried has been consistent, from the perfectly balanced broths to the freshness of the herbs and the quality of the meats. You can tell the cook here not only knows what they’re doing, but also takes pride in every plate that comes out of the kitchen.
I should note that the same owner runs King Pho, which is much closer to me. For convenience, I’ve given it a fair shot a few times, but the difference in food quality is night and day. While King Pho is decent, Viet Taste clearly has the better cook, and once you taste the difference, it’s impossible to go back. I’ve made up my mind that Viet Taste will always be my go-to, even if it means a longer drive.
The restaurant itself is comfortable, casual, and welcoming. Service has always been friendly and efficient, making the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portions you get, which makes the drive feel even more worth it.
If you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese food in Illinois, Viet Taste is the only name I’d recommend. It’s that good, and it’s spoiled me to the point where I can’t go anywhere else. Truly a gem.

Nice Vietnamese restaurant right across the hip mall. Small parking lot for the whole plaza but you can park in the mall. Food is pretty good with lots of variety of Vietnamese foods. There is always a side order of basil leaves, sprouts and lemon which you can add to the Pha. Only thing I didn’t like was they don’t take any cards, only cash and have a ATM machine next the counter. Just 2 guys were able to manage the whole store with orders and billing. Seating is little cramped as it is a pretty popular restaurant.

Cozy and clean restaurant with a well-trained staff. Service was prompt, though it could be slightly more attentive. The food was satisfying, and the pho truly stood out—perfectly spiced with a great blend of flavors and a generous portion of high-quality meat. Highly recommend!

After two years of coming here, Viet Taste is still our favorite pho restaurant! Every time we come here, their pho hits the spot!! Hot and flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, a generous amount of steak/beef balls, and a side of bean sprouts and sliced onions upon request. Their chili oil is homemade and very tasty. They are very generous with their portions and once you’re finished your meal, end off with one of their yummy fruit slushie bobas — we like their strawberry and their kiwi slushies, made with fresh fruit.

Food is really good! Been here twice with my spouse and we usually get the spring rolls (well made), crab rangoons (generous portions), pho with round eye steak (a little over cooked) and meatballs, and the lemon grass chicken rice dish. The prices are awesome, the portion sizes are great, and food comes out very fast. However, service is not attentive and the girls working there have attitude.

We saw this restaurant while going shopping around the area, so we stopped by for a try. There are many choices for foods there. They also have many kinds of smoothies. The staff is friendly and foods of course is delicious. The only inconvenience is they only take cash, but there is ATM there. So you do not need to go to the bank for cash. Give it a try when you are around the area

It’s our first time here and we loved it. Even on a Tuesday, it was very busy, and we had a short wait—which is always a good sign. The food was great, the service was excellent, the lady who I think is the owner or manager was very personable and sweet . I was pleasantly surprised by the prices. Probably the cheapest Vietnamese restaurant in Illinois. We’ll definitely be back!
