We drove by this place before but it was the first time we ate at Viet Citron. Had quite high expectations, and they were met! The interior didn’t superficially meet the ratings indicated: it looked more like a casual, take-out place. But, the food was amazing. The beef broth was delicious, and many vegetables were given. Highly recommend!

Cute quality spot with open grill and some outdoor space. Excellent food made to order. I customized my rice bowl with grilled shrimp ( huge shrimp and very well seasoned). Also had to fried pork belly…good serving size. The Vietnamese iced coffee was strong like I ❤️. Loved dine in so much I braved the traffic on the way home from work for a to go order and the service send food quality was still the same. My new weekly go to when I want high quality food and done have desire/time to cook at home

This is a review for the Viet Citron that recently opened in Kendall Square. Viet Citron clearly posts their prices (as they note in their responses to reviews), but potential customers should be aware that a bowl of pho with tip can be upwards of $20-$24 which is much higher than most Vietnamese restaurants in the area. That being said, the portion size was substantial. Their broth is rich with flavor, but for those that don’t prefer a heavy, oily broth should be aware that it’s a little greasier than I’m accustomed to. The quality of the ingredients were great. I wish that chicken pho was a standard item on their menu for those who want a lighter broth, but it wasn’t offered at the time I visited in Kendall.

I’ve been going for the past 3 years, and the quality has stayed high the whole time. I always love getting either the pho chin or pho tai with extra meat, but the portion sizes are excellent and it’s always incredibly good. This place is top tier, and I’d highly recommend going if you’re willing to splurge a bit!

Hands down, the best chicken pho I’ve ever had. Broth was amazing! No precooked dried out chicken breast here. Freshly grilled dark meat chicken was delicious. Wife had the crispy pork belly which was fabulous. Highly recommend!

Viet Citron Review
Location: 47 Middlesex Turnpike, Burlington, MA 01803 (near Burlington Mall)
If you’re craving authentic Vietnamese flavors, Viet Citron is a must-visit spot! While it leans toward a grab-and-go vibe, their food speaks volumes. Here’s what we tried:
Crispy Pork Belly Banh Mi (8/10)
This was a solid take on a classic! The artisan Vietnamese baguette was perfection—crispy outside, fluffy inside. The combo of pickled veggies, jalapeños, cilantro, signature aioli, and garlic soy reduction hit all the right notes. The flavors were spot on, but the pork belly was a little too fatty for my taste (also they use a lot of fish sauce so if you arent into that either this may not be for you!). At $12, it’s a great deal for a satisfying sandwich!
Pho (10/10)
The *star* of the show! Their pho is on another level—cooked for 48 hours, and you can taste every bit of effort in the broth. Rich, aromatic, and comforting, it comes with a side of fresh veggies and dipping sauce. Whether you’re new to pho or a seasoned fan, this is a must-try. A bowl will fill you up for the day, and at $18, it’s worth every penny.
Spring Rolls (9/10)
Crispy, golden perfection! These fried delights were light, flavorful, and impossible to go wrong with. A great appetizer to share or enjoy solo.

Overall Thoughts
Food: 9/10
Ambiance: 4/10 (Grab-and-go setup with limited seating, but functional!)
Affordability: 8/10
If you’re shopping at Burlington Mall, skip the food court and head here instead! A giant bowl of pho or a fresh banh mi will leave you satisfied without breaking the bank.

I was craving pho for weeks and I happened to come across this place while visiting Lexington. The broth was aromatic and flavorful, I got the Brisket pho with tendon. My husband also got meatballs pho while one of my kids got a Steak rice bowl. Also got some spring rolls, pretty good. The Avocado smoothie was expensive but really good as well. My complaints are that it’s too cold in the dining area, and I wish they sold the hot Vietnamese coffee. Otherwise I throughly enjoyed eating here. I’ll be back as soon as I have another reason to be around that area.

I love viet citron!! I usually get the rice bowl and the meat is fresh, flavorful and plentiful. You can’t go wrong with the lemongrass ribs, crispy pork belly, sirloin, or the chicken. The spring rolls are crispy and delicious. They have limited specials every so often and they are also great, I always try to get them when they have them. The place is clean, service is great, and the food never misses.

Tasty, fast, fresh! They have plenty of vegetarian options. We got a tofu bahn mi which was a very generous portion. The tofu was fried perfectly and was crispy but not overbearing. The bahn hoi was extremely fresh, all the vegetables looked and tasted amazing. The veggie spring rolls were delicious. The staff was friendly. We were able to order on a computer in the front. Bathrooms were clean.

The food is really great. That alone makes it worthwhile coming here if you’re in the area. It feels more expensive than other Vietnamese restaurants I’ve visited but I can sense that they put a lot of care in to their foods. Their pho is solid and their crispy pork is also recommended. I’m looking forward to trying more items in the near future.
