Social Profile:

Established in 1960, the Vienna Inn is a staple in the heart of Vienna, Virginia. Youthful placemat art on the walls and teeming trophy shelves demonstrate the family-friendly nature of the establishment. The menu also has something for everyone. Seafood lovers will enjoy the spiced shrimp or the blackened tuna sandwich and those looking for something lighter, there’s the greek and house salads with grilled chicken, shrimp or salmon. It is chilli macs and chilli dogs that the Inn is most famous for – and rightly so. Selling over 10,000 chilli dogs every month you would be remiss to pass up a loaded dog, complete with chili, cheese, spicy mustard and diced onion.

Classic bar known for its chili dogs & eclectic decor, including wood paneling & vintage booths.

TOTALLY BIASED! Just came back to Vienna Inn where my wife and I had our first date +32 years ago. We had our oldest child with us. So much fun and the place has not changed. Love, love a great local place and Vienna Inn delivers. We laughed so hard and had a chance to reminisce about the experience. Beer was cold, chili dog tasty and service great. So much fun. Highly recommend.

We came, we saw, we went and we won’t likely be back. Let’s start from the top: this establishment is very clearly in need of a good scrub down. The floor tiles that were once white are now grey. Dust bunnies collecting in every corner. One can only hope the cleaning supplies are used up in the kitchen. Plate served was chipped: hello bacteria breeding ground! I saw a clipped newspaper article stating $125k worth of damages was sustained after a fire a long time ago. Sad, but whoever was in charge of the renovations following that fire should probably not be in business anymore.

Vienna Inn, the charming breakfast American restaurant, promises an enchanting start to your day that’s hard to forget. Tucked away on a quaint street, this establishment offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease. From the moment you enter, the rustic decor and cozy booths transport you to a bygone era of small-town charm.

This used to be a favorite dive bar. But they got rid of their outdoor seating, their semi-decent service, and even the PRICES ON THE MENUS. They wouldn’t tell us how much the hot dogs were until after we ordered… and at $6.95 for a boiled hot dog, they were overpriced.

I have been eating at Vienna Inn for well over 35 years! As a child this would be a lunch stop treat for us kids when we spent the day with our Dad. I wish as an adult I lived closer so I could let my children experience this famous restaurant. The best chili around, loaded dogs to die for, and the best staff in town. The staff is always friendly and they try to keep a smile on your face. I recommend trying the Chili Cheese Dogs, a birch beer, and maybe a cold draft if you’re old enough!!!

The food was fine, but this is clearly a place one goes for the atmosphere. It’s a kind of delightful throwback, populated by good-old-boys, where the owner knows the regulars well enough to ask about their children by name, and plays fun light pranks on newbies (sorry- no spoilers here). I suppose some might be turned off by the feeling of a place that could be a diner out of the 1940’s, but I found everyone friendly and respectful, the prices reasonable, and the change of pace from overpriced and over-pretentious destination-venues to be wonderful.

This is a cool local joint with a bar and delicious diner type food. The small parking lot adjacent to the building has the back half of it taken up by their outside eating area, which is located under a tent. Be sure to let them know if you’re sitting outside to be waited on. The inside dining area is a bit cramped but it’s a fun atmosphere with some big screens for watching sports.

Spent a lot of time at the VI back in the day and wanted to take my son there for a chili dog. We ate 1 cheeseburger, 1chili dog, an order or fries, an order of chili cheese fries and 2 sodas. Almost $28 for just that little bit.

Vienna Inn is a true landmark. Serving comfort food like Cream Chipped Beef for breakfast and Chili World Famous Chili Dogs for lunch and dinner with plenty of beer on tap. The atmosphere is very casual. Several big screen TVs. Plenty of parking. Go and enjoy!
