This is my first time going to a cafe where you can play board games with your friends and other people. They charge you $8 per person for you to gain access to any board games from the shelves you want to play and you can stay here as long as you like until they’re closed. You can also ask to reserve a table and buy one of their game passes to save money!

The place is very hectic here. There were many people playing board games with their friends. There weren’t many options for me to sit. I didn’t want to sit outside. So, I decided to sit indoors. Some of the tables were reserved and some reserved ones are open to patrons who are not part of the reservations until a certain time. For example, I sat at a reserved table until close to 2:30pm, which is when reserved customers will take over the table.

There are plenty of food options here: sandwiches, pizzas, pastries, and cafe drinks. There are all sorts of menus there too if you take a look at the chalkboard. One of them happens to be a schedule of activities.

I didn’t participate in gaming tabletops, but I did try out of their sandwiches and their cafe drinks. The turkey sandwich is good and honey lavender latte tastes sweet. My drink came here 10 minutes more than my sandwich, which is quite odd, because usually sandwiches take longer to prep. Not only that, but drinks take way longer to prep, which I don’t know why. I like how the sandwich is prepped with chips sitting at the middle of the silver plate surrounded by sandwich slices.

Overall, the experience is great with many people playing board games. I probably should take one of my friends to play board games for experience and get pizza even when I never play board games for years. It’d be an awesome experience!

$8 per person gives you access to over 800 boardgames! You aren’t able to leave and come back, but luckily they have food and drinks (including beer) if you get a hankering for something! The staff was friendly and the pizza was good. My husband’s beer ended up getting a bug in it and they so kindly replaced it! We will be coming back.
P.S. free parking on the street after 6pm

This place is **amazing**. They have an extraordinary collection of board games. They are very friendly and helpful about selecting games. They carry actual DnD dice. They have a discord!!! I will bring my friends.

“Came for the cafe, stayed for the games.” Access to the games requires an $8 tab (as of June 2025) while seating is free. If you’re not coming for the games—don’t worry. You can study or work at many a table. Should you choose to game (as my group did), you can sit at tables with reservations outside of the reserved times. Shelves are stocked to the brim with plenty games; we even ordered a pizza to go along! It does get somewhat loud inside at peak times, so outside seating is a good option too. Would come again!

Ordered a mocha with a rugelach this morning and got an unexpected rabbit in the foam – I would give you 10 out of 10 for design creativity, and an extra 5 for carrying this rugelach!
The was from my previous visit

A+ for making my day

I have been here a few times. They have good games and polite staff members. They have good vegan and vegetarian food options, including items with vegan cheese.

Recommended.

I’m not a gamer but this seems like the spot if you are. This seems like a great site of community building in the area. Love that they have beer and food here. It’s not cheap, but nothing in Berkeley is and I am glad to support a local business.

One of the employees was playing some like screamo stuff one time when I came in. I like employees being on aux, but tbh I was really wishing I had noise canceling headphones in that moment.

Went there with my dad and son over Winter break. We went on a Friday afternoon/evening. We went for the gaming experience first and the cafe experience second. I was very surprised when we got there how crowded it was with just cafe go’ers. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table to open up that would fit the three of us. I don’t know if that’s typical. However they are not far from Cal so I would I imagine they get a lot of campus traffic when school is in session.

The game selection was outstanding. Lots of different sections with different kinds of games. Party games, puzzle games, strategy games, you name it. Really enjoyed that. If you want access to the game library it’s $8/person. If you’re just there for the cafe you don’t have to pay the library fee. Love all the decor as well. It all tied well into the gaming theme.

Most of the staff was super friendly. However at one point I was trying to point out an issue in the bathroom and tried to get a couple of the staff members attention from the end of the galley. They looked up from their phones but didn’t walk down to the end of the galley to hear me. I had to walk all the way around to the register to really get them to pay attention. That was mildly disappointing in terms of the quality of their service. Other than that everyone else I interacted with was terrific.

Good menu with decent selection and variety. Tried two of the pizzas and a sandwich. Everything tasted very good. Would have liked to have seen a few more snack options.

While it can get intense with sophisticated board games and great competitive minds inside a board game cafe, the outdoor booths of Victory Point secretly extends the charm of board games to a new, calmer experience.

Grab a gently lit booth, order a freshly baked pizza, add lavender to your “Babyccino” (hot steamed milk), pick some easy games from the huge game library inside – there you have it, a chilaxing meal after work, after dark, with breeze and ease, yet still colorful and fun.

Staffs are great, you can ask anything, they go above and beyond.
