It is the perfect place to grab breakfast or a quick bite. If you are placing a large or specific order, I recommend calling to confirm details after ordering online.
Highly recommended if you are craving fresh Cuban flavors if you are in the area; however they do have more branches throughout South Florida.
I get there and they crossed out HAM and wrote POLLO. I told them I didn’t order chicken. They said they don’t have ham. Why not call then? They just didn’t want to make it, because everyone in that store was ordering ham. Finally, they said they would remake it and make it ham.
Then I pull out my party platter and it’s all CHEESE, no Meat. Once again I bring this to the employees attention, and another woman comes over. I point to the receipt and let them know it’s Meat and Cheese. She gives attitude, and brings it to the back.
After waiting 15-20 mins, they come back out. The croquettes are fixed. Now my party platter is Guava and Cheese. I told them it’s wrong again.
Now the manager comes over with the WORST attitude telling me:
1. Her employee is NOT wrong.
2. Let her explain how I “SHOULD HAVE” ordered online.
3. That my order is correct.
I show her the receipt – MEAT AND CHEESE and that I know how to order online, I’ve done it before no issues. She tries to shove the wrong order in a bag and give it to me telling me I’m rude and I need to take the order. No. That isn’t what I paid for. After her telling me that the proper way to order is to place the order online, then call in, give my name, and tell them the order again – she said “I’ll change it this ONE TIME”.
That manager needs to get a lesson on how to speak to customers. I was not rude at all. My receipt was there and I was referring to it trying to get what I ordered. I will NEVER go here again. That manager needs to find a new job that doesn’t interact with customers as she is ruining the establishment.
Now, let’s chat about the atmosphere. The service vibe is a classic Hialeah bakery experience – laid-back and straightforward. If you’re not used to the chill vibes, it might feel a bit low-energy, but for me, it’s like a comforting routine. Once you embrace it, you’ll find it’s all part of the charm.
The only downside? No dine-in option. There’s this lonely table and a couple of chairs that seem more like bakery decor than actual seating. Sure, I’d love to linger and enjoy my coffee inside, but it’s strictly a grab-and-go scenario.
Despite the lack of a cozy sit-down option, Vicky Bakery remains my caffeine haven. When the coffee’s this good, you learn to appreciate the simplicity. If you’re in the mood for a reliable spot with killer Cuban coffee and don’t mind the easygoing bakery vibes, Vicky’s the place to be. It’s my coffee escape, and I’m always singing its praises.
