Our second time at this unassuming place on Hamburg turnpike. But the food and the service was as outstanding as the last time. BYOB lowers the tab considerably because you want to be drinking great wine with food and service of this caliber. We shared everything as a table of 4. Portions were perfect the menu was manageable. Service was attentive and thoughtful but not disruptive to our conversation. Table was cleared and new plates and cutlery appeared in keeping with the service level just great and on par with many big city stars imo !
This should be a regular haunt for anyone nearbye ( we are 50 minutes away).

Awesome Italian meal! We probably tried all but one of the pasta dishes. Each dish was very flavorful and well thought out. The service was great and we enjoyed the causal BYOB atmosphere. Apparently there are nights with a pasta tasting; will definitely be coming back!

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday last night and it was great! If I could give them a higher rating, I would. We did the chef blind tasting menu and were blown away. Every course was perfect from the taste, the colors, and size. We were so impressed by the Chef who explained every dish he prepared, was conversational, and impressive to watch. The pasta was to die for! What a great birthday experience here! I would definitely recommend the chef tasting menu to get a feel for this local Wayne spot!

Robbie and co. have come up with a new menu… with a few ‘old favorites still on the menu…
Came here with another couple and everyone enjoyed their meals… Duck ragu pappardelle, linguini with clams, shrimp, house cured pancetta, limone, parsley, chili… (2 of those) and duck confit on a bed of polenta.
I love Robbie’s dishes and have always raved about his calamari fritti. He has updated it with some Anelloni (large round firm pasta) and while good… we’re still hooked on the original calamari fritti. I mean for me (and my wife) that was the best calamari we’ve ever had.
Hopefully he’ll bring it back… one of these days.
Still a BYOB and still our favorite NJ restaurant.

I’ve been to Viaggio a handful of times, and have always had a great experience. The atmosphere is cozy- it certainly doesn’t feel like you’re in shopping center! The staff knows the menu well and they do a great job guiding you through it. Our server Nicole was so sweet because we couldn’t decide on appetizers, she was giggling with us, told us there was absolutely no rush and she helped us make a decision ultimately. it didn’t feel at all like she didn’t want to be at work. The culture of work environment seems driven- everyone there loves good food and it seems like they’re in this business on purpose, not just to have a job. There dont rush you out, but you’re not waiting too long for food either!

I can not say enough good things about Robbie Felice and his teams. This is just one of many successful restaurants he has opened in North Jersey. I would come and eat the calamari every day if it was practical. We had a wonderful, quiet evening and enjoyed chatting with the staff who were super sweet and made excellent menu selections.

Sam, Chef Matthew, and the entire Viaggio team did not disappoint- we had a wonderful date night! We elected to do the Chef’s tasting menu at the Tasting table instead of the usual dining table experience to kick off the New Year! The food was innovative, well-balanced, and flavorful, living up to Viaggio’s standards and reputation. The pastas were the standout dishes! The service was excellent- attentive and passionate. One of the servers had asked us how “courtside was at the Garden” and I think he nailed it in describing our experience in a few words. As regulars of Robbie Felice’s Osteria Cresendo, we will need to start adding Viaggio’s into our rotation more oftern after this Amazing experience. Much thanks!

Classy but comfortable spot with incredible service and food. The staff knew exactly when to step in and when to give space — professional but relaxed. Everything came out quickly and perfectly timed. The corn cappelletti special appetizer was a standout, the branzino was buttery and fresh, and the hanger steak was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Even dessert (rocky road with biscotti) was excellent. They opened and poured our wine right away, and the presentation on every dish looked like something out of a magazine. Definitely a place worth recommending — we’ll be back.
