We tried pizza, pasta, and salad and everything was amazing. The food was fresh and full of flavor. The service was great and the waiters were very kind and attentive. We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely come back.

Excellent pinsas by Tonino (similar to pizza, but closest to a US flatbread as a concept) with multiple choices, variable seasonally (e.g., had the Zucca with butternut squash) including GF one for all types of them. Thanks for coming to say hi to us at the table, Tonino! Also excellent appetizers – enjoyed the burrata and prosciutto one, and some classic meatballs with tomato sauce. Smooth Menabrea Italian beer for me (had the Amber one) but good wine and cocktail choices available too, and espresso (make sure to have cream and offer a macchiato option too!) Biagio kindly treated us also to a tiramisu – grazie! Warm welcome by Tommaso upon arrival and overall very attentive service throughout.

The ambiance is truly delightful, and the decor to the dining area by Grazia Montalto is truly remarkable and very gracefully colorful!

We had dinner during the Vinyls & Wines evening event, so the music got loud as the evening progressed, but not to the point of becoming annoying even on the occasion of this special event.

Highly recommend! We’ll be back!

I had a terrible experience here at Via Roma. I came in as a party of 4 and was told that it was a 20 minute wait. Not an issue. But a party of three came in and they were immediately seated at the bar. Just before we were seated, we were told there was less than a handful left for pizza. We asked them to check how many pizzas were left and the party that came in after us had already ordered a pizza so there was three pizza left. We ordered the remaining pizzas but another server told us that there were actually two pizzas left. We have been asking for help to order food. Our server hasn’t been present and we tried asking someone else to order but we couldn’t. After a while, we flagged down the owner/manager to get the order in. We had to order different items and it was good food, but isn’t worth the trouble we’ve already been through. We also tried looking for our server as we wanted to order dessert. She has been either close to the kitchen or bar talking to the bar staff. At this point, we talked to every other server but our own. Once we tried to get in the order for dessert, we were told the last pieces of desserts we ordered were still partially frozen and unable to serve.

The experience has been very disappointing from start to finish.

The food incredible. I had the pasta with marinara it was perfect! The pasta was very fresh. It was made in house hand made and it is definitely obvious by the flavor and texture. The sauce was also very fresh, made that day. The sauce was flavorful yet not spicy and the Parmesan melted into the sauce complimenting its already creamy texture. The pasta was also cooked to perfection allowing the pasta’s texture to shine to its fullest potential. The pasta marinara is off menu but they did it anyways and it was the highlight of my trip to dc. I will definitely remember this pasta as the best I’ve ever had and will make sure to visit it again if I am ever in the area. ✨⭐️ ⭐️✨

What a delightful addition to Woodley Park! I’ve walked past this place many times on my way home from the metro but I finally decided to give it a try. And it didn’t disappoint!

The pinsas (personal flatbread pizzas) were delicious and good portions. We had the Zucca and Salsiccia—rich flavors and perfect crusts! Super fast service, and the owner, waiter, and staff were all friendly and welcoming. It felt like a great neighborhoody comfortable vibe. Can’t wait to visit again!

For a guy who grew up in Rome, I am going to just say that I found my home! This is what pizza should taste like! This is the place to be! Everything from the ambiance, the team and the food, everything just flows!

We had the Pepperona, Via Roma, and Malafemmina + a salad and a burrata! The quality of the ingredients is impeccable. Everything is fresh and just right! I hope you keep that up. I am definitely coming again to try the dessert!

The best authentic Italian food in DC. The owner Biagio and chef Tony are absolute gems! We have been eating here since they had a location in Maryland and it quickly became our #1 spot. We have been to Italy and have eaten through every popular Italian restaurant in the city, yet still have not found a pasta dish better than Chef Tony’s. Their pizza puts others’ to shame and they have somehow managed to make a salad that taste like nothing I have ever had before! & the cocktails are stellar. You can tell Via Roma is passionate about making food that is truly excellent. We bring all of our out of town friends and family to Via Roma and they always ask for it again when they visit us! If you can’t tell already, I highly recommend.

We have been here 5-6 times since they opened, and I am glad we found this restaurant. The pizza is fabulous and the pastas are great. We take friends here and they also rave about the food. Service is friendly and excellent. Never been disappointed. Love the homey yet contemporary feel of the dining room. Highly recommended!

I decided to try Via Roma after hearing some buzz and seeing how conveniently located it is near the Woodley Park Metro. The setup is appealing — they have a large, covered outdoor dining area, a spacious indoor room that’s well-decorated with a modern yet cozy feel, and a huge bar space.

I was especially curious to try their pinsa, which is different from your typical Neapolitan pizza. Having lived in Italy, I’ve had pinsa before and was excited to see how Via Roma’s version measured up. Unfortunately, I wasn’t all that impressed — it was just OK, nothing memorable.

What really put a damper on the experience were the pricing practices. Ordering online came with a surprise $4 upcharge per pinsa compared to ordering directly with the restaurant. On top of that, there’s an extra 5% fee tacked on to every order — and they make it clear it’s not a gratuity or service fee. If it’s the cost of doing business, just bake it into the menu price. Don’t nickel and dime your customers — it feels petty.

Staff was fine overall, though when I was leaving, a waitress entering the restaurant didn’t acknowledge me at all and just barged past, with no excuse me or even acknowledgment that I had opened the door to leave which left a bit of a sour taste.

Not a terrible experience, but definitely not one I’m rushing to repeat.

The generosity here is crazy. You can feel the positive energy in the air. They have the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. They use to be in Camp Springs Md. the crust is dam good too. I don’t get heartburn or BG ‘s when I eat their pizza. They have Prosecco on tap and a butter to die for. The owners are awesome – very hospitable. Parking is a challenge but the train is in walking distance. This place is definitely a gem and I’m jealous that Dc has them now. FYI- They do have a 5% service charge added to all bills, that is printed on the bottom of the menu, which I’ve posted.
