My wife had the fried chuleta and I had the bistec ensebollado. Service was top notch.
The blonde girl who works there is incredibly kind and welcoming. She always makes my day with her sweet attitude and warm smile. That kind of service makes such a difference and keeps me coming back.
I truly hope they continue just the way they are because they are doing an amazing job. I highly recommend this place to everyone!”**
My experience at Vi Pollos was good.
For anyone not local to the area, the drive to the location was a bit weird, sketchy one might say.
The road that takes you to the house is not through a paved or compacted road, its a dirt road full of pot holes, so if you have a low car, you better watch it.
The location through Google Maps was on point, but even my wife felt weird on the isolation section that you have to go through to get there, not far at all, but this kitchen is in a private property that has added an outdoor kitchen and 3 huts (decently built I might say, fully furnished with lights and fans), they have a food trailer that seems to function perhaps for events, so kudos there for the hustle spirit.
Upon arrival, you see a big house and the kitchen space where they cook (authentic food) and have their outdoor set ups.
We were greeted well, and I ordered a Pollo con Tajadas, and an order of Tacos Dorados, with 2 Sprites.
We were given a ticket and took a sit.
As the food was being prepped, I felt more at ease and the vibe of the place started to feel more real, like you were inside your grandparents place, or that family member that lives in the country, feeling the breeze, the rain picking up, the fan blowing air from the ceiling, the images of the ladies at the kitchen cutting the platano verdes, the smell of the fried chicken, and other Honduran plates, it all felt home like, a good spot to be at.
When the food arrived, my pollo con tajadas looked simple, decently placed and decorated and warm, the steam was there, so I could tell it was recently cooked, the taste was good, again very home like but to me the overall experience and taste is like 7 out of 10, a six seems like injustice and an 8 too much.
The tacos my wife had were toasty, crunchy, and had a good taste. For her plate I could rate it a 7.5 out of 10.
The sauce and cheese they added to both plates was fresh, but lacked more seasoning, and to me the dressing in those plates is key to enhance the flavor.
The waitress was cordial and helpful, she kept checking on us and her attention was well noted, not in a bad way.
The overall cost was $33, plus tips.
The outdoor space is super refreshing, with fans to keep you cool, and there’s even a small playground where the kids can play while you eat such a thoughtful touch for families. The kitchen puts out real, authentic flavors that taste like they’re made with love.
The owner is the sweetest woman, and her staff is hands down one of the kindest and most attentive I’ve encountered. I’ll definitely be back, and I really hope they keep up this amazing level of service because it’s what makes them stand out. Places can sometimes lose that as they grow, but Vi Pollos is doing it.
Reminds me of my time in Central America, Belize
Extremely friendly and sweet.
