Excellent new Italian Restaurant. The Owner and staff were super friendly and welcoming. Have been there several times since they opened, and we love it. Would highly recommend the Arancini Appetizer, the Eggplant Parmesan and the Pasta Bolognese. For dessert, you can’t go wrong with the Tiramisu or the Lava Cake.

Finally, an Exceptional Italian Spot in Urbana!
We are so glad we decided to try this newly opened Italian restaurant in Urbana. It did not disappoint!
The food was outstanding. I ordered my classic test dish, the Chicken Parmesan, and it was perfect, a deliciously crispy chicken cutlet served over perfectly cooked pasta with a wonderful sauce. Our other dish was a fantastic seafood dish featuring octopus, shrimp, scallops, and clams. Every piece of seafood was cooked well, but the scallops were particularly outstanding.
We didn’t get to explore the drink menu much this time, but it looked very interesting and I’m already looking forward to trying some of their options on our next visit. To top it all off, the service and the staff were exceptional, making for a truly enjoyable evening.
We can’t wait to go back soon!

Great addition to the neighborhood! Our first time eating here and it was a wonderful experience. We sat at the bar immediately after arrival. The entire staff, particularly Michael, were very polite and attentive! We will definitely go back!

From the moment I arrived, the attentiveness of the staff stood out. The waiters checked in often to make sure everything tasted perfect, water glasses were refilled before noticed, and the service felt genuinely thoughtful rather than routine. The owner even came by personally to check on the table, shake hands, and make sure everything was up to standard. That level of care made me feel less like a customer and more like family.
The presentation was equally impressive. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with lighting that sets the mood just right – warm, comfortable, and welcoming. It felt elegant yet homely at the same time. When the food arrived, it looked incredible. I highly recommend the Lasagna Fritta and the Short Rib Ravioli. Every dish was plated beautifully, and the flavors lived up to the presentation. It truly tasted as amazing as it looked.
The timing of the entire experience was flawless. We were seated within about 15 minutes, menus came right away, and water was brought to the table immediately while drink orders were taken. Our waiter was incredibly helpful with recommendations and made choosing dishes easy. The appetizer arrived within about 10 minutes, and the main course followed within 30 minutes — perfectly paced. When asked for the bill, it was brought out promptly.
What impressed me most is that kind of timing doesn’t happen by accident. It takes the entire restaurant working together in perfect coordination – the front desk, waiters, owner, bar, and kitchen – all operating in sync. Vesuvius clearly runs at a very high level with a team that takes pride in delivering an exceptional experience.
5/5 – I highly recommend dining here. If you want incredible food, beautiful atmosphere, and service that truly cares about your experience, Vesuvius delivers.
