I moved to this area about a year ago and have been here multiple times. Food and service are consistently great!
I have never ordered anything I didn’t like. Best lasagna I’ve ever had! The beans and greens are to die for! The homemade cheesecake is out of this world! One of my favorite things is the Italian beef just in a bowl with a juice and some butter bread! Beautiful bar, with outstanding cocktails! So many unique options on the menu it will make you want to come back time after time just to try them. Great Sunday specials just like Grandma used to make. They also have awesome entertainment during the summer. Brittany is the best bartender I have come across in many years. I really enjoy her company and bubbly demeanor and am so excited when I walk in and see her behind the bar! Keep up the great work!

We had one of the best meals of our lives last night at Vesta 88 while celebrating our son’s 27th birthday! Ron and I had the special (grouper topped with crab-stuffed shrimp, tomato basil risotto and asparagus)–and Noah had the poutine and meatball trio. SO delicious! The servers are so friendly and attentive, and the coal-mining themed atmosphere and memorabilia make for a unique dining experience. Our new fave local restaurant!

I have been to two different functions at Vista 88 so far. A birthday party and a baseball banquet. The food was very good, especially at the birthday party where delicious appetizers were brought out. You can tell that the restaurant puts a lot of love into the recipes as they are definitely a high-end taste. An excellent restaurant to eat at for any day or occasion!
It is so amazing how they transformed The Riv into Vesta 88. It’s like it’s a completely brand new building that was built from the ground up, though it wasn’t. The theme is focused on the coal mining industry with amazing wallpaper and decor pieces here and there. A very cool vibe!
The birthday party was held in one of the rooms off to the side downstairs and was very nice. The baseball banquet was held upstairs in a room that can be used for just about anything. Think baby or wedding showers, banquets, reunions, etc..Restrooms are available on both floors.
The servers are very friendly and attentive to their diners. Awesome service! Be sure to check out their daily specials!
Good for kids with kids menu and High chairs available.
Their restrooms are very clean and modern looking.

The atmosphere pays respect to the coal minors, from the pictures on the walls to the black silverware and napkins. There are 2 dining rooms and a separate bar room that has table seating as well. The food is as amazing as it’s presentation! Great portions, even better taste! Service was friendly and ticket time was about 10 minutes.
Best place to go for an enjoyable dining experience!!!

We ran across Vesta 88 at the Greene County Harvest Festival in Waynesburg Pa. Met Brian there and had to try the delicious smelling food. After enjoying an Italian sausage baguette at the festival, and seeing what a great guy Brian was, my wife and I had to try the restaurant. First noted, was how clean and inviting it was. The wait staff couldn’t have been nicer and more attentive. We just bought dishes off of the appetizer menu because it was early and we hadn’t brought our appetite. I had the stuffed mushrooms and poutine. Remember I said I wasn’t hungry . Both dishes were fresh, hot and delicious. The seafood stuffing in the mushrooms was one of the best I’d ever had. My wife had the flatbread. It was delicious. Fresh and homemade tasting. We can’t wait to go back and try the blackened ribeye or lasagna. It’s worth a trip if you’re not local. Finding great food at a reasonable cost is so challenging. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Some of the best fish sandwiches around.
Staff is always friendly and service is quick. I keep going there on Friday for the fish, so I haven’t had the opportunity to try other items on the menu. LOL.

Went for the valentine’s day dinner. I had the lobster tail. It was terrible. So rubbery I couldn’t hardly cut it. It was like a tan color and not appetizing at all. My husband got the 16oz. Rib eye. He said it was the cheapest cut of meat he has ever had. The atmosphere and waitress was good. Overpriced for what we had and the quality for sure.

I don’t write many reviews, but this place was amazing! We were visiting from out of town and happened to stumble onto it. The coal theme was cool to see, the food was great with HUGE portions, and our server was so sweet! Our table ordered the salmon, ribeye, meatball sub, and fish sandwich. Everyone said how impressed they were with each one and the sides!

I haven’t eaten there since it was called the Riviera. Vesta 88 has a great menu with something for the whole family. The restaurant is decorated celebrating the area’s rich coal mining history. Photographs detailing the everyday lives of the miners and their families adorn the walls and even the names of the food being served highlights that rich history. The food portions are large with an Italian theme to their menu. I had the chicken parmesan and the breaded breast filet was fried perfectly. The fettuccine noodles were cooked aldente and the marina sauce was flavorful. The kids rigatoni and meat sauce was eaten until the plate was almost clean. If you are in the area, give Vesta 88 a try, you won’t be disappointed.
