I used to love the food here, but after my latest experience I will not be going back. I picked up my to go order and when i got home and bit into my sandwich i noticed it tasted extremely odd. I opened up the sandwich to find mold on every single piece of cheese and gray meat. I called back to let them know and they said I could only get a refund if i traveled back to the restaurant. Eventually I went back with the sandwich even though that was inconvenient, and I asked for a manager and they said they didn’t have one there. When I got there no one said a single word to us, no apologies. I used to love the food here, but the customer service and food was absolutely disgusting.

First time at this cafe and gotta say I am impressed. My mom always goes here and said get the “Rancheros” with fried egg. The dish is chopped chorizo with jalapeños in hot sauce. The taste is a like sweet and tangy hot salsa for breakfast. My sides were yuca frites and tropical cheese which balances the flavor. The service was very polite and urgent with the food too. I ordered two steak sandwiches for my daughter and I for dinner. It came out to $36.xx. When the sandwich was served in a box and I opened the box, I was surprised to see how small it was. It was served on a Wonder bread type of small piece of bread and not the long bread. There was barely any steak on both sandwiches, but the box was full with fries. I paid $17.xx per sandwich for wonder bread and fries. Never again.

With that said, **there is a 20% service charge added to the bill.**The waitress didn’t disclose that they add this on when she brought over the check and when I asked she said “oh yes that’s the tip already added on” Sneaky behavior… Disclose this to your customers.

Main Street Cafe, provided a wonderful experience. Placing an online order and driving an hour to pick it up was worth it. The staff’s warm and courteous approach added to the positive experience. The Country Breakfast was a hit with flavorful Ripe Plantains and delectable Rice and Beans. Sunny Side up Eggs and Steak were also top-notch. The Eggs with Sausage dish earned praise with the exception of the cheese. However, the Baleada with Everything fell a bit short due to unsatisfactory beans and overcooked steak.

I have visited here for food many times and didn’t want to review right away. Now that I have had many different experiences, I can fully leave my opinion. I only like one dish, the Bistec Encebollado with yellow rice and black beans, it’s delicious! That is the only reason I gave it a two star. I have tried many other dishes and haven’t been impressed, their consistency is awful. At first I really enjoyed their arepas but after a couple other times ordering them, they never tasted the same. I don’t know if they changed the recipe, either way it was just not appetizing, very dry and rubbery. It is very disappointing and angering that if you order take out they charge you for the actual container the food comes in. I feel like that is a bit ridiculous. That should be something covered by the restaurant, especially if they are going to offer to-go food. Their milkshakes taste like the milk has gone rancid. My stomach is a wreck for days afterwards. Also, the last time my boyfriend and I had their empanadas. They had something very hard (harder than cartilage) inside the empanada that broke his tooth in half. I don’t think we will be returning there again. Especially since the food is overpriced and they still have to charge further fees for take out.

Cassava With Pork Crackling “Yuca Con Chicharrón”. We both enjoyed our dishes very much and would definitely go back. The restaurant had reasonable prices also.
