A flawless dining experience. The atmosphere is sophisticated but welcoming, and the food is easily the best I had in the area. The grilled octopus and potato rolls are elite starters. For the entrees, the redfish is great, but the black grouper is a must-order. The caviar beurre blanc sauce is absolute perfection.

A huge shoutout to Stephen for the impeccable service and the travel tips. This place sets the bar for Sarasota dining.

Veronica’s absolutely delivers on both creativity and execution!

We started off with The Prince Edward Island Mussels, DELICIOUS — plump, fresh, and bathed in a deeply flavorful broth that stole the show. The merguez sausage added a smoky, spiced richness, the tomato fumet could have used a bit of salt. The orange peel tied everything together beautifully, adding just enough citrus lift without overpowering the dish.

The Whole Roasted Cauliflower was OUTSTANDING! Perfectly caramelized and tender, it paired wonderfully with the whipped feta, which was light, creamy, and slightly tangy. The chickpeas added heartiness, while the pomegranate provided little bursts of sweetness and acidity that kept the dish vibrant and balanced.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere strikes a great balance between upscale and relaxed, making it ideal for anything from a casual night out to a special dinner. Thoughtful flavors, excellent ingredient quality, and polished presentation make this spot a standout in Sarasota’s dining scene. Highly recommended.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Veronica’s with a friend. It was our first time there and we were in for a real treat. We sat at the bar where dined on not one.. but two dozen oysters.

Our server was great. He was tending to use and those on the floor. He was attentive and knowledgeable!

Given that it is season here in SRQ, I recommend securing your reservations today!

Veronica Fish & Oyster feels like the bougie, well-heeled sister to Owen’s Fish Camp — same ownership, same dedication to fresh seafood, but with a sleeker, more polished vibe.
The oysters were fantastic—bright, cold, and clean, with that perfect briny-sweet balance. Some of the best I’ve had in Sarasota. The mussels were also excellent: tender, flavorful, and served in a broth that practically demanded you finish it with the grilled sourdough (which I did, without hesitation).
Service was attentive, the cocktails solid, and the atmosphere gives you that “special night out” feeling without being stuffy.
If you love raw bar classics or want a more elevated version of the Owen’s experience, Veronica is absolutely worth the visit.

From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with a smile. The food was delicious, Marcy’s service was absolutely amazing, and the playlist set the perfect vibe. Start to finish, a great experience. Will definitely return! ⭐️

What a great restaurant Veronica’s is. We have been going there since they opened in 2016 and after dining in the restaurant’s dining room just once, we discovered the bar area and fell in love. The bartenders are interesting and friendly and most have been there a long time. They pour a good drink and are attentive while you’re having dinner. We love their (wagyu with shitake mushrooms and gruyere) burger which we think is one of the top three burgers in Sarasota. (Its served with crispy french fries.) Last night we shared a couple of appetizers, hummus plate and shrimp cocktail. (Both delicious.) Then we tried the Thai Crispy Snapper. Flash fried and served whole, with pickled mango, Nuoc Cham and butter leaf lettuce. This may be the single meal I pick if I am ever on a desert island and can only have one thing. It really was that good. Stop by. Sit in the bar area. They have comfy sofas and high top tables in addition to the bar area if you prefer. Ask Daniel to make you your favorite cocktail and enjoy a delicious meal.

Veronica is my absolute favorite restaurant in Sarasota. It is high quality in food, service and ambience. I have always had great service here but Rebecca was absolutely excellent. I tried a new martini based off of her recommendation and was so happy I did. The oysters are always fresh and delicious, and now I know shucked to order. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Thank you again Rebecca, we had an excellent experience!

This was a great restaurant with a great ambience. The food was delicious and I didn’t get a chance to take a Pic, but if you go….. you must try their bread pudding. We ordered another to go, but that wasn’t as good because the ice cream wasn’t as cold. This place had great service and amazing oysters. A must go!!

All the reviews are true. This place is beyond amazing and has exceptional service. I felt at home and everything we ate was steller! We had their octopus, homemade bread, crab with avocado served with deep fried rice cracker, fried red snapper, and wild mushrooms. I wasnt crazy about the mushrooms to be honest, but everything else was delicious! To top off our meal, the server brought us some bread pudding with ice cream for dessert! So far, this is my favorite restaurant in Sarasota. I hope to come back soon!

Disappointing Experience — Expected Much Better
We visited on Friday, February 13 to celebrate Valentine’s Day and unfortunately left very disappointed. We drove all the way from Tampa and had a 5:00 PM reservation, arriving at 4:50 PM. The young lady at the front told us they do not seat anyone before 5:00 PM, which we understood and respected. We used the restroom and returned to wait patiently.

While sitting there, we made eye contact with the greeter and she smiled, so we assumed everything was fine. However, during that time multiple couples walked in after us and were promptly seated — including one by another staff member. After watching several parties get seated before us, I approached again and was suddenly asked if we were ready to be seated. I explained that we had been ready since we arrived but were told seating before 5:00 PM was not allowed. The inconsistency and lack of communication were frustrating and honestly made us consider leaving.

We decided to stay since it was a special occasion. Our waiter, Adam, was very nice and professional — no complaints there. Unfortunately, the food was just okay and nothing memorable, especially considering the drive and the expectations.

Overall, the experience was disappointing. The host stand set the tone, and the food did not make up for it. You guys need to do better, especially when guests are traveling and celebrating special occasions.
