There were audible questions about the delivery order, and payment over requested extras and special instructions as per customer requests. These problems were resolved and the rapidly by the staff accommodating the customer’s needs.
This not being our first time visiting, our party was well aware of possible meal choices. During this visit we decided on our favorite preferred menú options.
An appetizer order of onion rings. This order was placed prior to the main courses. Our main courses were a simple pasta choice (penne) with marinara sauce with it’s complementary side house salad (honey mustard dressing on the side). We also had a large antipasta salad, and a small cheese pizza and side of fries.
The service was adequate but not at it’s best like in past circumstances. The wait staff weren’t as attentive to details as normal. When placing the main entrée orders we requested extra napkins. They were never received, also the complementary garlic knott wasn’t served with the pasta meal. And we weren’t informed as to why. Whether they weren’t available or just forgotten as an oversight.
All the hot food arrived at the table in a timely manner as usual, and hot as expected. The portion sizes were excellent not overly large. But large enough to remain the proper temperature to leisurely dine for a full meal including the appetizer selection.
The only other patron seated in the restaurant had ordered a cheesesteak.
After noticing this I began regretting my decision to order the pizza, because I was reminded of how much I liked this option during past visits. But without any worries knowing I will order the sandwich when on a future visit. Thanks for the exceptional food and we already are looking forward to our next visit…
As someone who knows true New Jersey/New York pizza, I can honestly say Verona’s nails it. This isn’t “Florida trying to be NY pizza”—this is legit NY/NJ pizza done right. You can taste the quality and care in every slice.
If you’re missing home or just want truly great pizza, don’t think twice. Verona’s Pizza is hands-down one of the best pizza spots in Bradenton. We’ll definitely be back again and again!
As for the pictures? I don’t have any of the restaurant or the food how could I? I EAT it so fast because it’s SOOOOoooo Good!. So, I just wanted you to know who I am and that I’m a down to earth guy. I grow lots of everything that you can EAT, and I eat it, so I know what GOOD food tastes like! And I’m an animal person, I have cats and squirrels that visit my greenhouse and Lanai. I bribe them with bags of shelled walnuts that I get at Costco so they leave my plants alone. Usually. My cats love going on my Lanai and watching them through the screens and seeing all the anoles and other smaller animals there and outside. I hope this helps!
Food: We started off with an order of garlic knots and oh boy, they did not disappoint! Hot, soft, melt in your mouth rolls that were glazed in some sort of magical, garlicky, cheese sauce – that are out of this world. Followed by a cheese pizza with fresh mushrooms, pepperoni and olives, that was absolutely delicious. The cheese blend they use is nothing less than true perfection. Our son ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken, which was also spectacular.
If you’re in Bradenton and craving authentic Italian, delicious pizza and pasta, Verona’s is the place to go.
Chick Parm was not too thick, tender and baked just right as the breading remained until the last bite and generous mozz layered on top: that’s how to do it Gustafson!
Sauce wasn’t garlicky (as in that’s all you’ll taste), not overly salty and there were NO chunks of tomatoes. Ziti was aldente and the garlic knots (the size of my fist) were fresh and right out of the oven. Maaaan they were gooooood. Fresh salads that snapped and homemade house dressing was excellent because it had a great balance of fats and acids. -because they know what they are doing….
Yes, we took some of our food to go.
So if you want authentic Italian cooking and you’re sick of being disappointed yet again, go here.
Thanks a lot, nice to see ya, thanks for comin down.
