Classic diner for pancakes & hearty American fare, with booths, counter seating & an outdoor patio.

First time trying Vernon diner and I guess we had high hopes for the food but were a little disappointed. Our home fries had zero flavor, they almost tasted like they just boiled them then grilled them for some crisp with zero seasoning! The eggs and bacon were good, but that’s something so simple to make! The only star of our breakfast were the French toast those were delicious! Prices are pretty high, considering it’s a diner and the quality of food isn’t the best. And if you go for brunch on a Saturday wait time is pretty long!

Awesome breakfast burrito! I loved the decor and atmosphere. Very clean and good service. The baked goods case is spectacular. I want to return and try many of their other foods and baked goods.

Fabulous place, and if your really hungry. They serve good size portions. And the food is farm fresh. Extra large eggs big red potatoes just delicious. And the Bakery looks oh so pretty with so many goodie to eat. Enjoy!

Creative American menu with sugar and chocolate and everything your mother told you not to eat when you were little. The cannoli French toast was as moreish as I expected & it lasted me about 4 days lol. Pancakes were a great size for eating ‘til you’re full & not worrying about leftovers. The yogurt parfait was excellent, too, though the granola was plain & it would’ve been lovely to see something homemade. The fruit was fresh and the coffee wasn’t watery, great traits for a diner.

I’ve been coming to this diner since it first opened, and I’ve always appreciated the atmosphere and service. Unfortunately, my experience yesterday was deeply disappointing. The utensils appeared unclean, there was hair in my food, and the staff interaction was unprofessional. The woman supervising the children was openly yelling at coworkers in front of customers, which created a very uncomfortable environment.
I’ve always wanted to support this place, but the decline in food quality and service over the years has been noticeable. I hope management addresses these issues.

My husband and I love there desserts and since we live close by so we order it for pick up. My husband got a brownie sundae and I got a slice of cake. He found three pieces of either broken glass, or hard broken plastic almost choked and didn’t feel comfortable finishing the rest. The plastic quart container it came in was not broken, so we’re not sure where that came from.

I LOVE this place! Beautiful retro diner, huge menu of anything you want, great service, and the bakery case is crazy! I had a tuna melt with onion rings. My husband is vegetarian and had many options (huge bonus) but got the greek breakfast burrito and home fries. Everything was excellent. We travel alot and have been to a fair share of diners and this is as good as it gets!

The food was great! Everyone loved their meals! My wife said best stuffed shrimp she’s ever had. The French onion soup was fantastic. My son’s seafood Alfredo was as good as the best shoreline seafood restaurants. The staff was was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Would definitely go back!

First time here today, and I had the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had! (The Texas Benedict – usual bennie stuff, plus pulled pork & BBQ sauce.) Tons of seating, including a heated patio for sunny but cold days like today. Attentive staff, great food – will definitely put thus one in our regular rotation!

We don’t go out much but I wanted a good breakfast, two people $48.00 plus 20% tip. The atmosphere is great, staff friendly and has a family feel, which is super nice. The coffee is not good and for me that is a deal breaker for breakfast. The pancakes themselves are outstanding, but you need to do them as take out. I say this because they make what appears to be a Karo syrup and sugar concoction, I assume to save money and it is soooo bad. They would be better to offer real syrup for a dollar or two more. I took mine home because I couldn’t eat it with that, and added my own syrup and it was great. However, I could have just done take out and avoided having to pay a tip and make my own coffee, which is 100 times better. They do have a case of wonderful desserts. I may go for lunch again, but not breakfast in the future.
