My husband took me for a couples night. The food was exceptional, the ambiance was good (not romantic), it seemed to be a place that has regular guests and is frequented by friends and business colleagues.

This restaurant is an NJ treasure, run by a wonderful husband and wife. They serve delicious (mostly French) cuisine, but occasionally run other themes. We’ve eaten there many times over the years. Never disappointed. Hope to dine in again, now getting take-out and loving it.

My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary dinner on a Sunday night. I LOVE that this restaurant is family owned, and that they were all working. Once I heard that, I was head over heels for this restaurant. The owner is so sweet, full of smiles, and cracking little jokes here and there. Very apparent that customer service is a priority. Everything was delicious! The bread was served warm, one of the best mushroom soups I have ever had. And dessert! The chocolate mousse is a must! My boyfriend doesn’t like desserts at all, and nearly finished it himself. We can not wait to go back!

Excellent service. Well prepared and delicious food. The chef and the staff( owners ) were very knowledgeable when I asked about any gluten free items on the menu. Although the beef bourguignon was not on the menu the night that I went, the chef actually remembered that I specifically asked him two days prior if this menu item was prepared gluten free. So he actually saved me a portion for the night that I came in and it did not disappoint. Oh and the other entrees and appetizers were fantastic as well. This is a restaurant that I will definitely return to.

This is a lovely restaurant with really amazing cuisine. I have always been pleased here. Owned by the chef and his wife, there is a definitive “homey” feel here. My wife and I had our first fine dining experience here after moving to the area around 9 years ago, and we’ve never had any complaints going here. Generally a quiet, mature crowd.

Great meal. Friendly environment sets the mood for a great dinner experience. Turkey great, Beef great. The drink selection was fantastic and the Haunted Bourbon ? was a nice surprise. The desert finish was fantastic and Lavender Creme Brulee and Profiteroles, yum. Wonderful staff.

Just came back from our first dinner there. Our first impression is fantastic. The quality of the food and the service is comparable with those best restaurants in Manhattan. In the past we could say what we liked and what was so so, but in this case we have to say that everything was excellent. We are definitively going back there. Four people sitting close to us were also making plans to visit this place soon. Ah! Have I mentioned that the owner is the Chef and his family serve?! No wonder the food tasted soooooo good!

Desserts were really good and everyone was nice but this place feels like it may have been good a decade ago? Nothing i got was great, especially relative to the high prices. Duck was overcooked. My cousin didn’t like her scallops. The branzino was quite tasty. Apps were fine. And cocktails were disappointing.

What can I say… if I died and went to heaven, they would be serving Verjus all day and night. Favorite restaurant. Period. Family owned business, everyone is chatty and personable, right down to the waiters (some of whom are part of the family). Service is prompt and attentive. Everything is held to the highest, most impeccable standard. I’ve been here at least 10 times (I’m not made of money) and have yet to be disappointed. Every time I go out, if it’s not Verjus, I’m missing out. Want to know more? The menu includes some classic French-inspired favorites but has a rotating selection of fresh, seasonal ingredients. Everything may come off the shelf, including white truffles. If you want your favorite dish and it’s not listed, the chef just may have it in back. A cozy place that tends to fill up on weekends, so go on a weeknight to enjoy a truly personal and fabulous experience. I’ve never gone wrong with an appetizer or entree, and as for dessert? Perfection in every selection. I’m not exaggerating in this review.
