Peeped the menu online before so I could move swiftly through the order line. They were out of two of the toppings I picked by 11am. Either way, was able to make a delicious salad to break up the gluttony of other King St. food choices. The girl who made my salad was sweet, the one doing inventory seemed to hate her life. It’s a to-go place with a few counter stool seats but over all not a place you stay and linger. Priced right, IMO.

This is one of my reliable lunch options during the week. Every time I come in I am always in and out quickly and the food is great for the price. I usually go with the Carolina Cobb and find that I have enough for two meals from one bowl. The two gentlemen working today had such great energy, with smiles on their faces, singing along to the (fire) playlist as they helped everyone. Keep up the great work!

Stopped into the new Verde location on Upper King to get my favorite salad, the Mesa Verde. This salad is incredible. Every single bite is bursting with flavor. Highly recommended!

Essentially like the salad chain Chopt, only not quite as good. The chicken is rather bland. Good place to grab a healthy meal though. I don’t like the drink choices either. The housekeeping was sloppy behind the counter and around the drink and utensil station. There was some gunk too in the fork dispenser.

Finally a healthy salad bar in Charleston that has more selection than ice berg lettuce. I had one of the signature bowls with the wild rice inside, it was a bit bland, but my husbands salad was amazing. If you are vegan or vegetarian, this is definitely the place to go if you are craving beautiful salad with a lot of add in options for protein or any kind of nutrients. Everything is also made on site, so none of those prepackaged over sweetened salad dressings that taste horrible or add 500 extra calories to your salad.
One thing that I noticed, is that everything could be recycled or composted, except the plastic covers. Perhaps a suggestion to ask the customers if they will be dining in or taking away, and for the people dining in — don’t give them a plastic cover to reduce the amount of landfill trash as the lid could not be composted or recycled (i didn’t see it listed on the trash cans).
Thank you for opening a healthy option for us health nuts.

I love Verde! I especially look forward to when they have new seasonal salads out. They have a chickpea salad one that is absolutely amazing! I ordered one yesterday (and again today). Today they accidentally forgot to put my drink in the bag when it went out for delivery. I called and the gentleman was super nice and apologized. He said when he had someone free to run down here he’d get them bring it to me. He estimated within the half hour (which is was ). It was in a large brown bag. I was confused because it’s a small drink. He could have literally just handed me the drink. I opened the bag and not only did I have the drink, there was also a bag of chips and cookie in there too..as well as a kind note! Thank you Rob Lomax! That was super kind of you and you didn’t need to do all of that. That was above and beyond. Rock on Rob AKA Verde King.
