Service: seat yourself, serve yourself drinks, menus are on the tables ( long table community seating) waitress comes over promptly to get your food order.
Not fast food, but perfect time as you know it’s being made fresh.
Definitely not “foodie “ gourmet, but tasty, finish every last bite, not to be missed, local eatery.
Will be back to try other fare on the menu.
There is nothing more relaxing and beautiful, than driving the back roads of Oklahoma on a cool crisp fall morning. Even better if your destination is a small-town café. You step out of the truck and smell the invigorating fresh air, mixed with a hint of cow pasture and a whiff of smoke from the rural home’s fireplaces. Country breakfast and hospitality is about to be served up with a fresh cup of coffee.
Step inside. Your first task is to pick your drink. Coffee is brewing to your right, sodas and other cold drinks are in the coolers on the north wall (left side). Make your selection, then grab a seat at one of the big wood slab tables. Don’t be in a hurry. You will have enough time to pick out your breakfast and change your mind several times before the friendly young lady shows up to take your order. Simple pancake and bacon for my wife. A version of my favorite breakfast for me. (check the pictures) When the young lady heads to the kitchen your order will be out soon.
Very good food. Comfortable, real laid-back atmosphere. Friendly service. If you lived here, you’d be dining with your neighbors. I love these places. The burgers are rated as the “bomb!”
When you are ready to leave, pay the head jailer up front. He’s been keeping an eye on you the whole time. Pay your fine, with a generous tip and go on about your life.
Oh, you do know where Vera is, right?
Onion rings. Homemade extra thick rings. Crunchy batter and juicy on the inside. Perfectly fried. The frying oil tasted clean. A+
Queso burger. This is their premium burger on the menu. Steak burger with real cheese and grilled onions. I have eaten a lot of burgers and this here was a tasty burger. One of the best I have ever had. No fancy aoli sauce or toppings. Well seasoned burger made from quality steak chunks. The bun is soaked in butter and toasted. Whatever they did it just works together. The slight sweetness from the grilled onions. The seasoning with a slight sour hint with salty greasy meat juice. The crunch from the toasted bread. The gooey cheese. Just a perfect artery clogging decadent American hamburger. A+++
Was it worth the 30 min drive? Depends on how much you love hamburgers. I would say just put this place on a list of places to visit at least once. Think of it as a food pilgrimage.
Had the sirloin burger, which is a really good patty with diced and grilled sirloin steak on top with bacon, grilled onions, cheese and mayo.
Have also had the queso burger, which is patty, grilled sirloin, grilled onions, queso and mayo which is excellent. Can’t go wrong with either one.
Onion rings are very good.
Small, no frills family owned business.
Clean dining room.
I will be back with the family because it’s worth the 45 minute drive.
