We stopped in during lunch time. The staff is amazing and the portions will not disappoint.I had the pastrami and my wife had the Italian chicken sandwich. Both sandwiches were exactly what we needed after our 8 mile hike. If you are ever in Midtown, this is the place for you.

How have I missed this little gem? I ordered the Junior Western Reuben, so glad I got the jr., it was huge, and the bread was perfectly toasted (didn’t rip my mouth apart) there was a lot of pastrami and corned beef and it was just an all around great sandwich, will definitely be going back. Great vibe in the place and all of the staff were extremely friendly, hard to find these days.

As a ex restaurant owner and in charge of kitchens over the years I maybe a little more critical to the food and service. I am retired from CMH and always had a great experience here. I have talked and recommend this place to people for years on the food and service. My wife who is a health nut very seldom will eat a deli sandwich but today I suggested this shop and told her how I was impressed with the food. Now, She ordered the hot Vegetarian and she was impressed and only commit was the bread was old but loved the vegetables. OK I choose the Italian Sub and over the years has been great so I was ready for it. We sat down and proceeded to eat. Like I said her bread looked old and just fell apart. I thought its was because its toasted but she said no. Now the Italian also had old bread and it too fell apart it had a tremendous amount of lettuce with no dressing but my real disappointment was the amount of meats on the sandwich was so thin it lacked flavor and again was sliced so thin and just a let down and no tomato and it was just a pile of unseasoned lettuce and old bread and what meat there was terrible. Maybe its the cost of items and your trying to save money but your going to loose customers. Again I will give it two weeks and then go back to see if changes are made and if not I will do a follow up.

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? Maybe it’s because I was coming off a 22 hour fast? Maybe this sandwich is on ozempic like everyone else?
4-star service only because the people working there were trying as hard as they could to keep up. That being said, this sando was not worth waiting 25/30 minutes for.
Judge for yourself. Or just skip the roast beef altogether.
I’m still hungry- any other suggestions of places to try??

These people work HARD! To consistently assemble the best sandwiches in town day-after-day in a high-traffic area deserves… a sandwich! Or a generous tip. Yum!

Ventura Sandwich Company is a gem of a find in the local dining scene! As a locally owned and operated establishment, they offer some truly amazing sandwiches that surpass those of well-known chain stores.
The shop itself is cozy, with a few tables inside and a couple more outside. Ordering is a breeze with their walk-up counter, and they even offer a large pickup service for those on the go. The sandwiches boast diverse options, each bursting with flavor and uniqueness. Don’t forget to pair your sandwich with one of their pre-bottled beverages and chips for a complete meal.
My personal favorite is the Aztec roast beef sandwich on Chabot bread. The combination of cheddar cheese, roast beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and their homemade Aztec sauce is simply divine.
In terms of pricing, Ventura Sandwich Company offers very decent rates for the quality of food you receive. The service at the counter is always fast and friendly, ensuring you’re never left waiting. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Wow just tried the West Coast Ruben and the Classic Pastrami or Corned Beef on Marble Rye Excellent sandwiches, made perfectly, with the highest quality products (Boar’s Head brand) plus fresh ingredients. Nick and Alex the owner are excellent and know how to make a sandwich. Also the price for what you get is excellent, the sandwiches are huge. I highly recommend Ventura Sandwich Company

I have eaten here several times only once was the sandwich any good. Once my ex wife sister told them to mess up my order and they did. What cook wants to put out terrible food. Leaves me wondering. Stay away from the tuna fish. The first half was delicious while the second half left me sick to my stomach. Don’t understand why you can’t even watch your sandwich even being made. That order was twenty bucks. I have always tipped cash. A can of soda is two dollars and chips are a buck. Bring the Pepto Bilsmo.

Don’t come here for the ambience, because there isn’t any to speak of. Come here for sandwiches that are the real deal, across the board. Excellence.
