This was such an easy great place to eat. The staff goes above and beyond to help you (many local Marines doing a second job). The parking is ample. Getting in and out of busy Oceanside a breeze. The food leaves you wanting more and the selection is fantastic. When we came back from Italy we wanted a mom and pop restaurant not an overpriced Italian chain and this does not disappoint!

Came in on a Friday evening, it wasn’t overly crowded and we were immediately seated. Hostess and server were fun and interested. We ordered garlic knots as an appetizer, which were very good. We ordered two large pizzas, which was plenty for five guys. Problem was the pizzas just weren’t good. Crust was average but little to mo flavor from sauce or cheese. The pasta plates at other tables I observed looked good.

This place has some the best Italian food in San Diego. My pasta dish was so delicious! It was a pretty big portion of food that I was happy to take home as leftovers. They gave us garlic bread which I noticed that many Italian restaurant don’t do anymore. Our server was the nicest and made great recommendations and he’s from Italy. Highly recommend this restaurant if you love Italian cuisine.

The food was honestly not great, my husband wasn’t a fan of the ravioli and my dish was not impressed. The garlic knots looked great but they didn’t feel or taste very good. I also noticed while we were sitting that dishes seemed dirty and cobwebs were everywhere. I know it’s an old place but dusting would improve the atmosphere. Probably won’t go back.

Venetos is in Oceanside. The building is old , it is a local northern Italian restaurant. It is on the small side, for the size of the restaurant it does have a big bar. The service was good . The food was good also. The owner was there serving and cleaning. He is nice but does have a bit too much of a sarcasm.

Oh I hate to say this but the food had such potential and it ended up being so ordinary. Now all I had was the Saliccia, So I can’t say anything about all the other dishes. However, you can tell an inattentive kitchen by how fresh the food tastes and the sausage meat didn’t taste so fresh. In retrospect, a bit on the gamey side. Which might be the flavor they like. I didn’t so much.
On the plus side, the bread was good and freshly baked, the pasta and sauce itself was fine, the wait staff was fun and nice, He twisted my arm into buying a Chianti which was okay for a Chianti. I never expect much of Chianti. There seemed to be some regulars here and my guess is I probably was in on an off night. But in a restaurant like this there should never be an off night for any dish. But it did look like everybody else was enjoying theirs. So I will return, pick a different dish sometime in the next couple of years. Sorry to give it a three, but I hope there’s the next time and I can upgrade it.

Very Italian home cooking. Enjoyed the garlic knots, cappellini pomdoro, Alfredo with shrimp, seafood linguine, pizza and manicotti. Only minus was table kinda small felt i couldn’t order more food other than our entrees n no booze, they’re waiting on their liquor license. Service is friendly n good pace and would definitely eat here again.

If there is a restaurant that deserves a Michelin star, it’s this one. The food is amazing. I couldn’t eat it fast enough. It was our first time in the restaurant but we did order delivery before. we are returning. Linguine with red clam sauce was so good.
