This was an amazing experience. Veneto’s staff did everything they could to make the dinning experience exceptional and the birthday more memorable. The service was timely, the knowledge of the staff was exceptional. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Went tonight with husband and adult kids to celebrate my birthday. It was ok. It was a decent ambiance. The staff were generally friendly. Our waiter didn’t spend much time with us. Never checked on us after our meals came. He did ask us a couple times if we were ready to order. We weren’t completely ignored. The food was just ok. Pretty small portions for the cost. My husband and I both got the filet mignon with baked pearl onions and mushrooms. There was a small portion of beef, two tiny potatoes, a couple pearl onions and two flat slices of trumpet mushroom. That is not great for $65, but also there was no seasoning that I could taste. No salt on the potatoes, no sauce of any kind. The beef was tender and cooked to my liking. Two of my daughters got some kind of pasta that was sitting in a pool of browned butter. They said it was overall ok but needed salt. I ordered a side of leeks three ways. The leeks that were fried were good, but the leeks that were julienned and the leeks that were just steamed or sautéed, again, had no seasoning. Everything was just ok and overpriced for what we got. They were great about keeping our waters filled. The hostess was super friendly. A bright spot was a nice little spoon for each of us at the end that had some kind of Chantilly with grated dark chocolate and some cherry. My husband actually left hungry.

We came here as a group to celebrate my birthday, and it was a really fun and memorable evening. The service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and made the night feel special. We opted for the 7-course dinner with wine pairings, which was a great experience overall. One of the courses was two citrus slices soaked in rum, served as a palate cleanser. While creative, we personally didn’t feel it quite stood up as a full course. My brother, who has dined here before, mentioned he preferred the courses from previous seasons—but of course, tastes vary. All in all, it was a wonderful night out and a unique dining experience.

Had the opportunity to visit VENETO (4th East 9th South in SLC) this week and had a truly fantastic meal! Charcuterie board to start, panzanella salad and then braised beef pasta, which was so good that I forgot to take a picture! Amazing service, ambiance, food and wine. Can’t wait to return.

We were pleased we were able to get a same day Thursday night 8PM reservation; tho it required 4 calls to the restaurant. The first 3 dropped straight to VM. We hoped that there would be specials as the online menu lacked carne choices.
When we arrived there was one other table with 2 guests, and we thought perhaps it’s a sign? Considering the gentleman at the host station was so kind, we decided to stay.
We were greeted by this beautiful note on our table suggesting to appreciate and live in the moment. That is a lovely touch.
I requested to see the wine list to order a bottle of champagne and was a little surprised that there were so many very pricey options and very few in a reasonable price range. Okay, we figured we’d roll the dice since I did want to taste Lady Gaga’s Dom. So two things happened here: the restaurant does not have proper glasses for champagne, and the champagne was served slightly warm, so it was too bubbly. That was remedied after the first glass as it sat in its ice bucket.
Before the champagne was brought out, a server came to the table and wanted to talk to us about how the menu works? I kindly requested if we could have our champagne delivered first and relax into the experience. I fear I offended him.
There are no specials as they curate their menu. Fair enough; our server was able to recommend a few dishes that sounded delicious.
The chef’s amuse-bouche was delicious.
I ordered the Bolognese. Funny enough, the server said it’s impossible to mess up a Bolognese. . . But yes, it is possible. A Bolognese is more than crumbled ground beef atop pasta, which is basically this restaurant’s rendition of a Bolognese. I tried to remedy it by ordering ricotta cheese and asking for salt and pepper (which was not offered at service); alas, I was unable to make the dish enjoyable.
The beef tartare was delicious.
The server recommended a pork dish that was beautifully presented and delicious at first bite. As I ate more, it got increasingly drier. This part of the pork was described as very fatty, perhaps my peice was just slightly overcooked? I remedied this by requesting additional sauce as it was plated the fancy way with very little of the accoutrement. That did help. Though I was extremely disappointed with the dried up potato rosette. Yes, I requested to have potato with the pork, and I guess the chef wasn’t pleased with my ask. It was impossible to cut the fennel because the knife was simply not sufficient. It would have been preferred for the kitchen to remove the orange rinds as they can be bitter.
No one came to the table to follow up after serving food courses.
The seafood dish was delicious.
Espresso is very, very good.
Tiramisu lacked sufficient flavor; the lady fingers were not soaked long enough in the espresso. This resulted in a dry desert. It also appears that it might have been a little old, as you can tell from the photo, the cocoa on top reflects that the desert was not made that day.
Did appreciate that the waiter explained that tips are embedded in their food cost. Though, it was not proactively communicated when the check was dropped. The Medieval Time service charge communicated in other reviews is interesting. And all my travels to Italia, perhaps I wasn’t paying attention. Wink.
Overall, it was an okay dining experience. We chalked it up to being in Salt Lake City rather than in the metropolitan areas we typically frequent.

After the amount of money that was spent for dinner here, I am very disappointed in quality of Venetos. They have great service, they are very professional and I greatly appreciate that they were able to get us a same day reservation. However, it is more than pricing and service that make an evening great. It is one thing to take time to make a quality meal, but it is another to have your guests fill up on water as they wait an hour for their dinner, so that they will not be as disheartened with the small portions when it is received. With that, it is ridiculous to charge $13 for the said water. As for the meal itself, I found it very displeasing that five small strips of steak cost $50. I understand people associate expensive meals with a quality experience, but to let yourself believe that something like this is a positive memorable evening is simply just foolish. This being said, I wish the tables were spread out enough, that you could walk between easily when getting in and out without bumping either. I also wish they were more spread out so it did not seem as though you are eves dropping on your neighboring table. There also needs to be better communication with the waiting and attending for more input during the meals. Overall, I was very displeased with my experience and do not plan on attending again.

Such an amazing experience from start to finish! It started with the call to confirm my reservation. It was for a birthday and they asked if they could have a bottle of champagne or flowers waiting at the table when we arrived. The woman who called was very pleasant. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and they also offered to take our coats. Our waiter arrived very shortly after we were seated and asked about water options and explained the menu.
We decided to split a second course dish so our waiter had them split it onto two seperate plates for us without us even having to ask. We tried the spaghetti caprese. And oh my was it delicious! The home made noodles were cooked to perfection! And the sauce was delectable! It was perfectly seasoned and absolutely mouth watering. They also bring out a basket of bread that was so good and went well to get the rest of the sauce that came with the pasta. For the main course my husband got the filet mignon. It came out cooked as requested, medium rare. He ate the whole thing so he definitely enjoyed it. I got the elk stew. The elk was cooked very well. Seasoned well and tasted great. The polenta and veggies were a wonderful addition. The veggies were also cooked amazingly. I enjoyed my dish very much! At the end they gave us a little box of a cookie cake type thing that was great with my coffee the nexr day. When we got to the hoatess area they already had our jackets ready to go so we didn’t even have to wait. I will definitely be going back and i have already recommended this place to a few people

The food was delicious and the service quite nice. The filet was perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. The neighborhood is questionable, though, that is largely out of their control. But, the $75 corkage fee is outrageous, especially when their wine list, while containing some decent Italian wines, is not comprehensive enough to warrant such an exorbitant charge when one knows what they like to drink. For a place that claims to be so passionate about wine, and even offer its patrons a wine club membership, it feels deeply disrespectful to gouge fellow wine drinkers with that price. It is due to this we will not return.
That said: if you do not partake in libations, the food is good and of generally good value.

The perfect experience for a small intimate birthday celebration! Service was impeccable, food was AMAZING, and their no-tip policy is a breath of fresh air in the out of control tipping culture. All the reviews about the food are accurate, especially all the pasta dishes and risotto being perfectly al dente. Definitely our special-occasion place from now on.
