Reviews
The beef bolognese soup was hearty and comforting. And if you’re a spice lover, the seaside calamari spaghetti, packed with squid, is a must-try! The orange chicken was very unique, crispy boneless chicken cooked in a sweet and tangy orange gravy. Another hit was the Hunan chicken.
Overall, the food and atmosphere make it a perfect place for a date or family meal.
Tom yum soup- 1/10 (basically tasted like leftover curry that we make at home)
Beef minced soup- 5/10 (way too thick and sweet but can be used as dip for other items)
Fish and chips- 2/10 (They battered up a piece of fish and served with a side of bland fries along with some kind of disgusting mayonnaise)
Fried Calamari- 6/10 (Decent taste but the same disgusting mayo came along with it)
Tom kha fried rice- 2/10 (No seasoning or even meat in it and they put three pieces of shrimp on top that are wayyy too salty)
Hunan Chicken- 5/10 (They just tossed it in bbq sauce and called it smth else which is pretty misleading.)
Lemon Butter chicken- 8/10 (The only good thing on the menu. Rich in taste and very cheesy)
Overall experience was pretty bad but the only nice thing was the service. Definitely not coming back here again.
Staffs are well behaved and atmosphere is good for a group hangout.
Offering some combo for girls only.
I asked to remove mushroom and add fried rice and they did it. One more star for that one.
I’ll visit again to check improvement.
Their lunch platter, available from 12 PM to 3 PM, is a fantastic deal, priced between 300–600 BDT per person. The service is excellent, with attentive and friendly staff making you feel truly welcome. I also loved the large window views, which make the space feel open and relaxing.
I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. Definitely a must-visit!
Checked out Venetia, the new restaurant on the 4th floor of the Crisps Building in Khilgaon. It’s been making waves on social media, but in reality, the experience didn’t quite live up to the buzz.
The space offers plenty of seating, which is great for casual meetups, but the overall ambiance felt a bit underwhelming. Most of the décor relies on generic wallpaper, with only a few decorative elements standing out. Given the online hype, I was expecting something a bit more distinctive.
The menu is okay, and the food tasted good, which is definitely a strong point. However, the portion sizes could be more generous, especially considering the pricing, which leans slightly on the higher side.
Service was friendly, but a bit slow, and there’s no dedicated parking — you’ll likely need to park on the street, which can be inconvenient in this area.
Overall, Venetia shows promise, but there’s definitely room for refinement in several areas. I’ll keep an eye out and would be happy to update this review if improvements are made — always nice to see new places evolve and grow.
So, we went there and ordered the pasta dish, calamari and a rice bowl. The pasta was okay, the rice bowl was tasty and the calamari was superb. In total I loved their food. It was really a good experience. All the foods were tasty and most importantly we got a 30% discount. So, we were happy. About all items cost nearly 400-500/- on average. Their quantity is good. We were three in person and shared three meals among us.
This place is recommended. Must try their calamari. But their sitting arrangement is not well planned. They provided nice sofas. In each sofa 3/4 person can seat easily, so, in a table almost 7/8 person can seat. But there’s no small table or sitting arrangement for single/couple people. Hence we three people occupied a whole table, similarly, a couple occupied the place of 8. So, we had some waiting minutes.
And their decor is good. You can see the picture. Though, they didn’t have too much free space or a dedicated place to take photos.
About the interior, most of the statues are wallpaper. That is it, there are only two statues.
About the food, we ordered Fiery Chicken and Seafood Symphony. Chicken was tasty on fiery chicken and the Dory Fish was tasty on seafood symphony. But the other items were not that tasty. Specially their rice was sprinkled with some chilli powder which did not taste well.
Overall there is room for improvement with the food, specifically the price they are charging for the food. The service of the waiters was nice though.
