Ok wanted to give that disclosure because it sometimes feels unfair to review Mexican restaurants in Colorado.
Atmosphere- TWO STARS, they had a jewelry table with a lady sitting there in the MIDDLE of the restaurant. She was shoulder to shoulder with me and my family. Ruined the whole dining experience. I’ve never seen that in a Mexican restaurant in my life. You feel pressured to buy jewelry when you’re just trying to eat.
Let’s start with the good – the birria tacos were large. You get your monies worth. The service was wonderful, great staff! Now, The birria broth itself was just ok. The refried beans were clean and decent. Probably good for most of the demographic but, they could have used more lard and smashing. The rice, was ok. Wasn’t bad, but didn’t have a single piece of herb or spice. Just orange. I’m used to pieces of onions and tomatoes, my grandma even put ground beef bits in it, A WHOLE MEAL. ♥️ the horachata drink, which is rice and cinnamon, was watery, not the best.
This place is good for the suburbs.
I tried the supreme birria pizza to share with a few colleagues. It comes with a side of their consommé. I ordered an extra side for $3.99 and an extra cup so all three people could dip the pizza as they wished.
The pizza is huge at 14″ and topped with a ton of pickled onions, guacamole, cilantro, shredded lettuce, sour cream, pico and jalapenos. Inside is the birria meat and cheese.
The pizza itself is delicious and messy but in the best way. There is a lot of flavor. The consommé is good not great with no pieces of meat in it. It was a bit greasy.
The reason for the four stars is that the employee who gave me my order did not give an extra cup as requested and seemed annoyed when I asked for it. On a previous visit the customer service was excellent. Something that soured my experience. Maybe it will be better next time around.
The parking is shared with other businesses.
So close to being a five star except for atmosphere. Not many tables for a small group of 2 or 3. You have tables of 6 so if just 2 of you get looks from others. This place was busy and as soon as we were done people were asking if we were going to be leaving. No sitting and enjoying you feel like you have to wolf your food down.
Their condiment station is well stocked but you have nothing to put your condiments on. The salsa cups are maybe 1/2 a tablespoon. I did not know they came so small.
If you want anything else from there you would have to bring your plate there and that is not sanitary.
They do not have chips and salsa like other Mexican restaurant and we did miss that. Maybe because they are so quick on the food they do not feel the need and want the tables turned.
If you want great food for take out, this is your place. We will not be back for dining in but will most certainly go there for take home food.
Parking is tight so I would recommend going at non peak times.
The food is excellent as always and now that I live close by, I can’t wait to tour the entire menu! The salsa bar is great with many options. The bar isn’t quite up and running yet since they just opened, but what a bonus from the original location.
We got there just after 11am on a Saturday, and I thought it was so quiet compared to the original location plus this location just opened this week so I figured people hadn’t heard about it yet. By noon, most seats were filled! Parking is pretty easy, but the lot may fill up at busy times.
