Absolutely loved this place! The staff was genuinely super friendly and made us feel welcome right away. The tacos and the bowl were both so good fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. You can tell they actually care about the food and the experience. Everything came out fast, the vibe was great, and I’ll 100% be coming back. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Really fun, unique vibe for both YA and families. I haven’t tried the food yet, but everyone is only saying positive things and empty their trays.
Theres a lot of color and humor, and indoor seating as well as outdoor patio seating with an awning.
The lines are long for a reason…but every staff member is bussin efficiently and even when I was in line out the door, I got serviced within 5 minutes.
Special shout out to Ty for quickly tending to tables outside and still making time to personally help me out and for answering my questions!!
The manager is also super active on the floor – cleaning, serving, checking in on customers (and staff!)

Tried the Velvet Bowl with both chicken and beef and it was seriously filling. The portions are generous and packed with flavor. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, while the beef had that rich, savory kick that makes every bite satisfying.
I love that you still get all the bold Velvet Taco flavors but in a bowl version — perfect if you’re not in the mood for tortillas. Everything tasted fresh and layered well together.
Super solid option if you’re craving something hearty but still flavorful. I’d definitely order it again

My daughter and I came for the first time on our lunch break and service and food was amazing. Tiara was very attentive and I appreciate that. The food is delicious and fresh. Must try.

I’ve been a Velvet Taco fan since 2013 when I first had it in Dallas, Texas. After 12 years, seeing Velvet Taco finally open in North Hills is exciting.
I ordered their guac, beer-battered cauliflower taco, paneer taco, and the smash burger. The guac was chunky, fresh, and flavorful. The tacos were well balanced with the right crunch and taste — the cauliflower had a crisp exterior with a soft center, and the paneer was seasoned nicely without overpowering the other ingredients.
The space is clean, seating is comfortable, and the staff was courteous. Great energy overall. Definitely will be back again.

North Hills definitely needed a great taco spot and was excited when I found out Velvet Taco because I’ve heard such great things.
Stopped by today it didn’t disappoint!!! Awesome!!!
Everyone is so nice especially the manager Ben and the food is delicious!!!
The guac is amazing as are the shrimp and fish tacos!!! Will be back soon.

So…Best Tacos in Raleigh(Tie with Bartaco)!
This spot has dope vibez and even better tacos..
This is not your traditional Mexican spot it’s a fusion of cultures wrapped in a tortilla.
Based off what we tried.. here is my ranking:
1.Bacon Smashburger
2.Quesa Birria
3.Chimichurri Steak
4.Raleigh Cue(Weekly special) wasn’t sure I’d like this but it’s certified. (Hush puppies, pork, slaw)
5.Spicy Tikka Chicken-Not bad, just a competitive lineup. Comes with fried tenders tossed in the sauce.
Margs-Top tier-Frozen or Rocks
Red Velvet Cake:Hence the Name.. Almost better than grannies..
Should be a Raleigh Staple.
Let’s not forget the Amazing staff! They were nice, helpful, welcoming. 10/10

Very amazing tacos! I got the combo with salmon taco & chimichanga taco with guac & the margarita with a floater 10/10!!
Amazing friendly welcoming staff & very clean restaurant & easy to read the menu & ordering is a breeze!
Jameson was very friendly & grabbed our trays from us when we were finished so we could continue to enjoy our drinks & hang/talk.
