You’d never guess you could get such quality bbq next to a gas station. Everything about my experience was perfect. Service was polite and happy, ambiance was great with walls covered in trophies that this q has undoubtedly earned. Pulled pork had nice mild smoke and very juicy. The burnt ends were amazing, didn’t appear to be stored in liquid but was still very moist. Cornbread- awesome. Slaw- awesome. Portion size just right to make a great value at $12. Wish I was in this area more than just today! Kudos

I missed this place the first time I drove by; it’s tucked in the BP gas station. I ordered the Judge’s Plate because, well, I wanted to try everything. The brisket, chicken, pulled pork, and ribs were all super tender. All of the meat was seasoned and didn’t need sauce…in my opinion. But the sauces were good…none of them were too sweet. The competition had the right balance of sweet and tang.
The sides were also good. The baked bean had a rich black pepper and chili powder kick to them…much better than the beans people pass off from a can. The green beans were firm…none of the canned and mushy feel to them. The corn bread muffins tasted like corn bread muffins.
I’d stop by again if I were in the area. Brisket, chicken, ribs, or pork you can’t go wrong.

Hey need a good place to eat while visiting Harrison, OH? What’s that you say…Velvet Smoke BBQ? Oh and it’s in a gas station? Well sign me up because this competition BBQ winner has amazing offerings including Ribs. Brisket, Chicken, Pulled Pork as main entree offerings. Then add some sides like the Baked Beans which are a sort of hybrid of baked bean meets chili. Mac N Cheese, green beans with bacon, texas toast and cornbread finish up some of the great sides they offer. Family friendly and no frills seating make this place the perfect spot for real BBQ

Great barbecue. Baked beans had a kick were amazing. Mac and cheese off the chain. Didnt get to try the burnt ends but ribs, brisket and pork were awesome. Only thing didnt care for was pulled chicken little too much seasoning too enjoy the smoked flavor

I had the judges plate and a half pound of wings. The sauces here are amazing, some of the best. Combine that with some good meat and you got a fantastic meal. The bread pudding was amazing, and the ribs were good but, the rub they used on the wings was hands down the best dry rub I’ve ever had. I had a few different sauces to dip the wings in, but after tasting the wings on their own I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I plan on stopping here any time I’m in town. Don’t let the location fool you, a lot of the best BBQ joints are next to a gas station, and this is definitely one of the best.

It’s one of my two favorite BBQ restaurants in the Cincinnati area. Love the brisket. Pulled pork is awesome. The green beans and baked beans are yummy. Jalapeno cornbread is good as well. Definitely a hole in the wall place and worth every penny
