Traveling from Arkansas for work. In superior for a week and we decided to try this place. Food was amazing and the owner sat and talked with us. She was super sweet. Food was good and I love the decorations. The owner said she decorates herself for every holiday. She also made a memorial for all of the local veterans that have served in and around superior. We love to see that! She said we must come back for breakfast so of course we are!

I really enjoyed my breakfast here. I had the chopped steak and eggs with a side of bacon, hashed browns extra crispy. I love the decorations and the small town feel. The owner was very kind and offered me a handmade cross made of ribbon to bring to my wife. The service was good and the food was good and large portions. They didn’t give me any trouble when I asked for a cup of ice for my coffee (it comes out very hot and I needed to get on the road). The only real thing if I was nitpicking would be the steak could use a bit more seasoning.

I think we stumbled in on this place when they were trying to close. Regardless, they were friendly and didn’t rush us in the least. They have generous portions. We ended up with to-go boxes. Very reasonably priced, too. If you leave there hungry, it’s your own fault. Also, my son would like the internet to know the mozzarella sticks are delicious.

Even when US-81 construction is completed, the Velvet Rose in Superior is very worth swinging by. Drop by for an excellent country breakfast, the fried chicken on the lunch buffet, and a visit with Peg. She’s been running and decorating the place for decades and is as friendly as the food is good!

This is a small town mom & pop diner with friendly service from people that have lived here for a long time. They know all the folks that come in and for newcomers they are equally welcoming. Don’t expect Michelin star quality but it is fresh, honest and has love infused into it. The western omelette is tasty and the biscuits and gravy satisfying. The biscuit is fluffy and the gravy is smooth and although light in flavor, is still delicious. Definitely come here for breakfast if you can.

Peggy has NOT raised her prices with all the recent inflation. Superior is a small town and this restaurant is a mainstay of the community!

Very unfriendly. The guy who cooks was griping about a big order placed from me and my friends. That we should have called in and order prior to our arrival. Won’t go back, hate to have the cook upset.

Small towns should have a place like this, and if you accept what it is intended, you won’t be disappointed. Friendly rural community atmosphere, generous portions, and downhome food. They aren’t fancy and the food wasn’t gormet, but it was reasonable and ok.

Delightful restaurant! Delicious home style meals. Had ham steak, huge baked potato, green beans and a huge garden salad. Topped off with a graham cracker crust cheesecake. Wow, all served by the friendliest staff I’ve been served by in months. Highly recommended on the north side of town on hwy. 14.
