We usually dine here for breakfast however this time we came for lunch.. It’s nice that you can order breakfast food at any time of the day. The pancakes are huge and the best we have ever tasted. We can’t find the same pancakes in any other restaurant! They are usually our order when we dine here in the morning. We are never disappointed as the food is always prepared to our satisfaction and arrives in large portions. The restaurant is always full so you may have to wait, however they usually seat you quickly. The waitresses are pleasant. They also have a variety of ice cream you can choose from with special flavors that they post during the warmer seasons. We prefer this location over the other one in Modesto.

Food is always good here. The service at the dale location was bad. I mean really bad. It took the waitress 26 minutes to get me a drink. She sat us down, came back 5 minutes later and then asked my partner for her drink of choice, a Dr. pepper. The waitress proceeds to ignore my presence and awkwardly walks away to fulfill her drink order.
A few minutes later she brings the singular drink back and again ignores my presence. I expected the waitress to correct her mistake but she did not. I should have spoken up in the moment but shame on me for expecting basic service etiquette.
My partner and I take a few minutes to figure out our order and place it the next time she circles back around. My girlfriend speaks up and asks the waitress to grab me a sprite while placing our orders and she left.
5 minutes later she comes back and asks my girlfriend to repeat her order. Still no drink.
10 minutes later we get our food and the food is great as always at velvet grill. I still didn’t have my drink though. I finally just spoke up for myself and asked the waitress to go grab me my sprite. She brought it right away. The rest of the night went smooth but
I forgot to mention there was maybe 4 tables with people. It was not busy by any means.
The best part was when two guys walked in 15 minutes after we sat down and got both of their drinks right away. If you’re looking for quality service don’t come to the dale location. The McHenry location is miles better.

We are regulars at the McHenry location and we decided to go to this location because we were by the mall. The food here is is really good. We have enjoyed every visit to The Velvet Grill. Jovita had her usual go-to breakfast, the # 1. I had the Un-Club sandwich. For our beverages, we had iced water and I had a strawberry ice cream soda in addition.

Excellent Excellent service by all staff.
Manager “Rachael”was too good in service.
Food was excellent.
All the staff were continuously checking if you needed anything more like “More Coffee”.
I can’t run this place better even if was my own business.

Went for breakfast with my daughter and had the worst service. The food was good but the server had such an attitude and not even just with me but the way she treated the other staff was awful. Her name is Sarah and because of her I will not be going back, which is a shame because the food was good.. Will stick with the one on McHenry

Food was great and so were the prices. They have a weekday special before 1130 that I got. 2 eggs choice of meat and choice of French toast waffles or pancakes for 12.50. Can’t beat that price and the French toast are amazing

I had paid my respects to my old pal Tork Wrench and his little brother Alan after the passing of their sister Ratchèt, and it was a lovely service but long, and I found myself hungry so I made a beeline for the Velvet Grill for some perfectly cooked chicken…And Man-O-Man was it good! 5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆

I’ve gone here since I was a baby. They’ve always had the best grilled cheese. The mega grilled cheese is to die for with their homemade ranch and I always substitute pickles for fries.
