My wife grew up in STL and raved about the Velvet Freeze Gold Coast Chocolate. She thought Velvet Freeze was gone forever. I found that there was one store still open and surprised her and her family by sneaking out and picking up a bunch and brought it home. All agreed it was exactly as good as they remembered. They had not had velvet freeze in close to 40 years. Truly a rare gem in St. Louis, and a must go for anyone.

I took my nonverbal 4yr old niece here and she was screaming and crying when she saw all the goodies. I asked the lady whom was sitting down if she could ring me up she and the young man yelled at me because I was simply asking someone to ring me up. I’ve been going here 17yrs and never been treated so rudly. That ended it for me. No more Velvet Freeze. Everyone is not a thief and not everyone looks for a handout. I simply walked out. No need to fuss or curse. But that was absolutely ridiculous Velvet Freeze

I can’t believe the way I was treated by the white elderly lady that sits behind the counter I’m not sure if she is the owner or not but the service was horrible, I decided to come there to treat my nieces and nephew to ice cream they arrived later than I but once they did she locked the door on them and I asked why she said to many ppl inside which it was way more ppl in there that left out before my nieces and nephews arrived then she told me if I unlock the door to let a customer out they can come in and she was sitting right by the door I told her I don’t work there so she let the customer out and locked the door back so I try to unlock it to let me family in she said u leave out I’m not letting you back in I’m not sure because I’m black that she treated my like that or what but it was so bad that the white couple behind me left out and apologized to me for how she treated me. I would never go there again. Very POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE .

I wish I could give this place NO STARS. Me and my friend went there spent over $30 walked out and the cone was HARD AS A ROCK. The l manager was mean as hell. I bit the cone infront of her even took a piece that would not break in half and she insisted that’s how they are supposed to be but my friend did the same thing and it was perfectly fine. Her only excuse was ” That’s How They’re Made”.. don’t go here the place looks dirty and the guy with dreads isnt any better. The snacks there be expired I asked him were they good he replied “check the dates” pathetic

Didn’t get a Hello when you walked in the guy said we only accept EBT or cash (we dont have EBT)… ohhh ok that’s cool. It felt like a sauna in there, it was junky and just looks dirty. But this will be our only time coming there. Malt was good but the prices seemed to be geared for people that have EBT, aka making them more expensive. I spent almost 17 dollars for 2 single scoops of ice cream cups for my kids and a regular malt, ridiculous.
