We had an amazing experience at Velour! We came in with a large party, and they accommodated us effortlessly. From start to finish, the service was exceptional.
The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Kris, our waitress for the evening, went above and beyond to make sure our large group — and all of our many requests — were handled smoothly and efficiently. The manager, Suede, was just as kind and welcoming, making sure we felt taken care of the entire time.
The food was absolutely delicious, and even with a big group, everything came out correctly. The team delivering the dishes made sure each person received exactly what they ordered, which we truly appreciated.
Overall, it was a 10/10 experience. Great food, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that made our celebration even better. We will definitely be back!

I came here for a friend’s birthday. I ordered the pesto pasta, island boy drink, and truffle fries. Everything had great flavor. The hostess was attentive to our large party and enthusiastically offered to fix a steak that came out slightly overcooked. I had a great experience and will definitely return for a date night spot. The music was r&b but not too loud that you couldn’t have a conversation. The owner, suede(?) was very welcoming!

Phenomenal find! We went to Velour before an event at the House of Blues and we were very pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere is very nice and would be the perfect date night or evening out with friends. The menu has a little of everything and the service is top notch. They handled my daughter’s food allergy extremely well! There’s also a private room available although I’m not sure how many it seats. We will absolutely be back – especially if we’re planning to attend anything near House of Blues, AAC or the Perot Museum.

Went for a special celebration and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The service and the staff were very attentive. The drinks were decent and consistent. My favorite was the Pear Cobbler but the Pixie Cut was also great. The food was for the most part a hit. I had the burger and the truffle fries which were delicious. The oysters and bone marrow cornbread were good starters. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Great service and such a special experience dining at an all Black-owned restaurant in Dallas. The owner checked in on us several times, which made it feel very welcoming.
My husband had the red snapper and loved it—the grits were really good. I ordered the shrimp pasta; it was good but a bit too spicy for me and could’ve used a little more depth in flavor. I still finished it though. The Brussels sprouts were really yummy.
This was my husband’s third visit, so that says a lot. We’ll definitely be back.

I recently visited Velour Restaurant in Dallas, and I have to say—this place is absolutely stunning. From the moment you walk in, the beauty and ambiance are top tier. The décor is elegant, modern, and clearly curated with intention. It gives upscale lounge vibes while still feeling welcoming and comfortable. If aesthetics alone determined the experience, Velour would easily be a five-star destination.
The service was also impressive. The hostess greeted us warmly and made us feel valued right away. Our servers were very nice, attentive, and accommodating throughout the visit. They maintained great customer service despite some challenges coming from the kitchen, and that effort did not go unnoticed.
Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the atmosphere or service.
To start, two drinks listed on the menu were unavailable, along with one entrée option. While I understand that the restaurant is new and may still be working through inventory consistency, it was disappointing to have multiple items unavailable during our visit.
When the food finally arrived, it was even more disappointing. I ordered the chicken and hot cakes, and they came out completely burnt. On top of that, the chicken was only half cooked, which is not just unpleasant but unacceptable. My friend ordered the grilled chicken salad, and the chicken was extremely dry. It had to be sent back to the kitchen. Overall, I would rate the food a 4 out of 10.
I truly understand that new restaurants go through growing pains. However, undercooked and burnt food crosses the line from “new business hiccups” into serious quality concerns. With such a beautiful space and strong front-of-house team, it’s frustrating that the kitchen execution doesn’t match the standard the restaurant presents visually.
Would I return? Absolutely not.
Velour has the look, the vibe, and the hospitality—but until the food matches the level of excellence the ambiance suggests, it’s not worth another visit.

Very cute place! I went with a friend for happy hour, we sat at the bar and tried the lamb skewers and the bone butter cornbread. They were both just okay in my opinion. The staff were super friendly. I would give this place another try and choose something else on the menu.

Came here for a friend’s birthday. Party of 13. Wait staff, customer service, and food flavor was absolutely wonderful. They were extremely accommodating, patient, and the flavor of the food and drinks were awesome. I’ll definitely be back, rather it be a girls night or a date night .

The vibes are immaculate. Can’t wait to go back. The food is delicious… get the lamb! The playlist is great and the music doesn’t overpower the atmosphere. Our waiter, Delvin, was kind and attentive. Ask for him! And Suede, the manager, is amazing as well.
