We came here for the first time tonight. The vibe was really great and upbeat. Band tonight, they were fantastic. Our server was Veronica. She was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. Jalapeño margarita was on spot. Can’t wait to come back!!

We went for lunch. Atmosphere was fantastic. They were between the lunch and dinner rush so it was very quiet. We both had the lobster burrito. Every bite was spectacular. The guacamole was made from scratch. Delicious!

Their margaritas are the best. I got a cucumber lime and it was so refreshing. Food is great. We sat outside and it was very nice. The inside is very nicely decorated A little pricey but overall, very good. I frequently get to go on orders as well.

Best Mexican we’ve had in a while. They have their own Mexican lager that was very refreshing. I had the Tampiqueña and my wife had the red snapper. Plenty of food. They were very friendly and we’ll definitely return. The patio was nice!

Delicious! The food was great. We had the fried plantains and they were crispy on the outside and soft inside. They were also served with a sweet sauce and made a great dessert alternative. The vibes were fun and casual. Will definitely be back. New favorite!

Veleros Mexican Cuisine really hit it out of the park for us tonight!

Flight of margaritas Guava, Mango and classic lime all phenomenal.

Then a beautiful Mahi-Mahi Ceviche. So fresh we were longing for a beach.

My husband got Barbacoa tacos which he loved and was so glad he got black Frijoles Charros.

I got the Lamb Cazuela Barbacoa. The warm cooked cactus added such a good bite and earthyness to my meal, that a didn’t expect and the Lamb was so tender. I devoured it and it was a great portion because my husband was eager to try mine.

The Guava marg was so good a second was critical!

With the app, marg flight, meals and additional drink the bill was a touch over 100 which we were perfectly happy with, considering the quality of the food! Thanks for a great meal

We were visiting the art gallery nextdoor and decided to have dinner. Everything was wonderful. We started with some very tasty ceviche and drinks followed by tacos. Our server was friendly and prompt, and food excellent.

My Valentine’s Day dinner at Velero’s in Valparaiso was a disappointing experience. This was my second visit to the restaurant, though the first was at their previous location. While this current location on Indiana Ave is larger, the parking situation is still less than ideal. Street parking is available, which is a plus. We were seated immediately, but it took a good ten minutes for our server to even take our drink order. After that, another ten minutes passed before he returned to take our food order.

Around that time, a musician began playing, and it was incredibly loud. It made conversation at our table nearly impossible. The noise level was simply overwhelming. When the food finally arrived, everyone at the table agreed that it was dry and overcooked. Nothing stood out in a positive way. I had ordered the Steak Enchiladas with red sauce, based on the server’s recommendation. The steak was tough and overcooked, and instead of the red sauce I expected, the enchiladas were covered in a white sauce. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t what I ordered, and the overcooked steak ruined the dish.

The only bright spot was the Mexican rice, which was surprisingly flavorful. However, this one positive aspect wasn’t enough to salvage the overall experience.

Overall, the experience was far from enjoyable. I can understand the appeal of live music, especially in the summer when they have outdoor seating, but inside, it’s just too loud for a pleasant dinner. I won’t be returning.

The food and atmosphere of this place is great. It’s very clean and staff are very nice. We got taquitos on the house that were delicious, and all the food was really good. The horchata tasted off so we weren’t sure if the milk turned or something. We also had issues with my mom’s drink and food orders being messed up twice. They fixed it both times and were very nice about it, but it was just odd how many times it kept happening. The food was very good though, I recommend the al pastor tacos.
