Beautiful interior and great service! The design is stylish and modern, and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

If you’re around 30, though, this might not feel like the most comfortable place for dinner — most of the guests were around 55+, so the atmosphere felt a bit more mature.

The food was decent with some interesting flavor combinations. Salads were very light, and desserts seemed more like semi-prepared items. I’d love to see the taste and quality of the dishes match the amazing look of the place and the wonderful service.

Such a wonderful place. Every time we’ve come here the service, food, and atmosphere has been top notch. The chef, Donna, is phenomenal.
Tonight’s special of cod in a seafood broth with shrimp, clams, and potatoes were finger licking good!
Date night, friend get-together, whatever special occasion to celebrate, go to Vela!!

Walking in I thought we hit a home run. It went downhill from there. The atmosphere was good, clean. Drinks were fine, pours good. There were about 8 people at the bar and a party around the high tops with two bartenders who took exceptionally long to ask if we wanted another drink long after our glasses were empty. We had to ask to order food because they never did, we saw a couple eating oysters but we were never told any of the specials so there was no way to order them. When we finally could order the food took rather long to come out. The portions were fine for the price but I would not recommend the gnocchi as it was over cooked to the point we almost didn’t eat it. Overall my take was the bartenders were completely inattentive, not interested in providing a high quality of service. They never asked how we liked the food, if everything was alright, if we needed anything…..nothing. We definitely will not be back

We wandered in on NYE willing to take anything. The wonderful host explained it may be 15-20 minutes but if we were ok taking a seat at the bar, they could get us in. We were thrilled.

Next we had Katie as our server and she made the rest of our night great. She was on top of our every drink and we slowly ordered till full while sharing items and she never missed a beat.

We loved the eggplant polenta, branzino, and crème brûlée the best. Best drink for us was the Maggie May with fig vodka. A surprise star. Also the bread and seasoned olive oil is really really good!!!

I think with a few spike trees scattered in the dining room, the noise could be lowered without losing table space.

Not bad, but no compelling reason to try this place again any time soon.

Large, modern dining room and outdoor seating. Plenty of room and high ceilings. Most comfortable chairs. Bread was fresh and warm, but not abundant and not refilled; really just enough for one person. Bread is better than Paradiso, but not as good as La Voglia. The olive oil served with the bread was excellent – strong flavored, the best I’ve had at any Bucks county Italian restaurant. Burrata and heirloom tomato appetizer was pretty good, as was the Mesclun salad, though the latter maybe could have used more salt.

We ordered bucatini as our pasta course. Menu says “Tomato, Guanciale, Herbs, Sheep Milk Cheese”. What we received was not what I expected from the description. It was pasta with a very rich and delicious, though somewhat oily tomato based sauce. Sadly, the pasta was very overcooked. The dish was topped with a nice large strip of fried pork that I would have guessed was pork belly rather than guanciale, though it was tasty. I would have loved some more bread for the leftover sauce, but our empty bread basket was not refilled.

Main courses were branzino over escarole, and chicken with mashed potatoes. Portions are small enough to justify getting a pasta dish before the main dish. Both dishes were fine, but not memorable. The branzino would have benefitted from a larger portion of escarole.

Service is slow. Waitstaff was professional, if not particularly enthusiastic and friendly. Bottleneck appears to be the kitchen. We did not order dessert because we had already been there over 90 minutes by the time our dinner was complete.

Cool atmosphere and great menu. We were seated in the back party room which is why I think our service was so incredibly slow. We weren’t in a hurry but 2.25 hours is a looooong dinner. Place wasn’t even full so there is no excuse for the slow service. Octopus was delicious and so was the striped bass with really good crispy skin. And the garlic infused olive oil that finally came out with our bread was really really good. I had the Bucks County Mule which was also good and my partner had the Blueberry Crisp for dessert which he very quicky devoured. They were pretty good with my dairy allergy but my sorbet came out with a biscotti that I’m sure wasnt dairy free. We’ll be back and give them another try.

My wife and I went to Vela on our 16th wedding anniversary. We have three kids, so getting out to dinner alone is a rare treat. Our dinner at Vela was just great. The food was delicious, filling, and yet not heavy. We had a tough time choosing between all the great options and spent much of the evening eating off each other’s plates. 🙂 We will go back again and would recommend it highly. A BIG THANK YOU to the staff at Vela for making our evening a fantastic one.

Finally got to try this place! It was a very spacious and beautiful restaurant with great ambiance! Their Octopus and Barrata from the starters menu were fantastic and the rigatoni was delicious. The highlight of the night was the dessert of course, (we even forgot to take the picture!) the vanilla ice cream with peach was to die for. The customer service was amazing and my friends and I had a wonderful evening here. I highly recommend this place!

This was our first time here. The food was very good. I had cod with clams. I want to go back and try the pizza. One of the the first things you see when you walk in the door is the pizza oven.

Great dinner. I like that the pasta dishes weren’t the standard American Italian dishes that I see too much of in Doylestown. Prices were quite reasonable for the quality of the food. Service was good and things moved along at a good pace, contrary to some of the other reviews I saw from a while back.
