If you only get one thing, get the Mac and cheese. It seems to be made with a tofu-type of ricotta, but I could be wrong. It feels really substantial, and not greasy at all! The breading seems like the breading on nuggies. At first, I thought there was a chick’n patty on top. It’s a great feature. All the toppings complimented it wonderfully (we got jalapeño ranch). The entire takeaway box was packed with Mac. We easily got 4 servings out of it. Massive!
The tofu Reuben was good, but I am the kind of person who DOES enjoy plain tofu. If you’re expecting it to be marinated, you might want to skip this. I thought the sauce did some heavy lifting flavor-wise.
The pierogi were meh to me (the toppings were great! We got the Big Mac pierogi. Tasted just like a Big Mac!). The weak link here was the pierogi itself. Maybe I just got duds, because my husband enjoyed them. I thought they seemed stale, the dough had started to harden and dry out. Also, the potato innards seemed excessively emulsified. I’m glad to have tried an innovative menu item, but I don’t need to experience it again.
We also grabbed a pile of the candy from the counter, a box of apricot Kiffles (made by stehly’s) and a Tandy cake (also from stehly’s.) The Kiffles were excessively sweet. The Tandy cake needs to be kept refrigerated because the chocolate will soften at room temp. The cake is exactly as I remember Tandy cakes, but the almond butter is too bland. It needs peanut butter.
I ordered the BBQ Ranch Burger with the Impossible burger, onion rings, pickles, lettuce, BBQ and ranch dressing on a bun. Well, it’s a messy burger to hold and eat, but man is it good. With all those flavors, you would never know it’s vegan.
My partner ordered the jalapeno chicken sandwich with grilled chicken with a cheese sauce, fried onions, ranch, roasted and pickled jalapenos and just loved all the flavors, he ate it with a fork and knife.
Our friend ordered the tofu reuben with seasoned tofu, sauerkraut, cheese sauce, 1000 island dressing, pickles served on grilled rye bread that she just loved, again with a knife and fork.the vegan desserts were fresh and sweet, so loved the lunch.
Overall, great vegan food and excellent service.
I’ve been vegan for a long time, but my dad is the complete opposite and we both fell in love with this spot! First of all, it’s cozy and super cute, the staff is VERY friendly and welcoming, and most importantly — the food and drinks are absolutely amazing!
The place was really busy, so we waited about 25 minutes, but it was totally worth it.
We’re definitely going to be regulars — and keep in mind, we live about an hour away! 🙂
Guys, please, never close this place!
See you soon!
