I had a mixed experience. There was a very loud machine running in the kitchen and the music was also a bit loud, which made the space feel chaotic. There was even a fly buzzing around our table. Service was surprisingly slow considering there were only two other tables — we were there about an hour and fifteen minutes for weekday lunch.
The ordering process is counter service where you scan a QR code to read the menu on your phone and order at the counter. The menu leans heavily toward deep-fried options, and you grab your own napkins, silverware, etc.
The food was hit or miss. The pomegranate drink was extremely sweet. The Italian sausage flatbread had good flavor, but it was quite oily. The fries were disappointing — limp, soft, and barely warm. For dessert we ordered the beignets, which they initially forgot, so we had to go back to the counter to request them and wait longer.
Prices felt a bit high for counter service. Despite the hiccups, the staff member at the counter was very friendly, and the flatbread showed promise. This probably isn’t the place for a quick bite given the slow service, but I’d be willing to give it another try and hope the experience is better next time.

After hearing all the good reviews about this place, I had to try it out for myself. I placed my order to go because I was just getting off work and I wanted to beat the rush hour traffic. When I came in, the atmosphere was warm and comfortable, and the guy who took my order was extremely friendly. I had ordered the vegan chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes, collard greens, and corn. When I say everything on my plate was EXTREMELY DELICIOUS!! If you’ve never eaten vegan food before, I say try this place out first. Because the way they seasoned their food, you’d swear it’s not vegan!!! ANOTHER HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PLACE TO GEM (please excuse my plate i started eating before i took the photo)

Tried Vegan Food House for the first time while visiting from out of town, and the food was absolutely amazing. The flavors were bold, seasoned perfectly, and honestly some of the best vegan comfort food I’ve had. You definitely don’t feel like you’re missing anything, everything was satisfying and full of flavor.
The only downside was parking, it was pretty difficult to find, especially not being familiar with the area. Just something to plan for if you’re visiting.
Overall though, completely worth it. I’d 100% come back!! ✨

so yum! went here for a friends birthday dinner and everything tasted so good! you order via a qr code and grab you own water and utensils. the food came out quickly and every tin was so yum. HIGHLY recommend the friend lasagna, the stuffed jalapeños, and the beignets.

I love eating here when I’m in Dallas. I grew up visiting family in Louisiana so it’s so nostalgic to find vegan southern comfort food options here! I love their Cesar salad and mashed potatoes. Their vegan menu is MASSIVE so I look forward to eating my way through it when I’m in town. Staff is friendly and helpful too 🙂 I always sit on the patio and enjoy the vibes of bishop arts while I dine. Don’t forget to grab a coffee news to read while ur there!

Friendly staff, favorable food. 1st time trying fried oyster mushroom it was good. Only thing missing was nice slice of cornbread instead of toast. Plenty to choose from on the menu. Loved the brown sugar lemonade definitely a favorite.

This was the worst experience. I ordered my food 1 hour ago and after complaining about not receiving it I still did not get it. I was told to wait a few minutes which turned into another half hour. Good food and bad customer service will cause you to go out of business. There was no apology and my food looked like it was thrown into a tray and put into the warmer waiting for me to get it after I already said I did not get my food. I watched three Uber drivers come in and ask for their orders multiple times several minutes apart. No one wants to waste their Saturday waiting to eat especially after driving 35 minutes to get their food. This is the last time I’ll ever eat here. This was the worst experience. The hostess was super sweet and helpful. The atmosphere is so chill. The food was good. I am gluten intolerant and I was so happy they have a couple of options for us. Definitely recommend it. I enjoyed the way is decorated so fresh and cozy.

Food was AMAZING!!! 10 out of 10!!!! The music and the atmosphere fed my soul! Such a special place!!! The menu was unfair because it they have so many options !!! I wanted to try it all!!! I had crab pigs, aside, salad, vegan fried chicken, southern mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, corn, and garlic bread. I’ve been thinking about it since I left! Everything is made fresh to order in house . They also had a large selection of desserts and fresh made juices! If you’re in Dallas, this is a must try!!!!!! So happy I found you Vegan Food House!
